What should Liverpool do now?

  • Sack Rodgers now and get Klopp ( or someone else)

  • Sack Rodgers at Christmas and get Klopp ( or someone else)

  • Sack Rodgers in May and get Rafa

  • Keep Rodgers, I'm brain dead and think he will still turn it around, as soon as Joe Allen is fit.

  • MITO is a bottom feeding man whore.

I agree with a lot of the above. But there is a difference between the mancs and lfc as far as manager and recruitment is concerned. Not that I am particularly bothered about them. They have improved their team even if you argue that the improvement is slight and the investment massive. Their manager plays boring football but he unlike Rodgers does not constantly get rogered (outwitted) by top managers. Rodgers record against any manager in the top 5-6 is pretty appalling.

It is about hope and the direction of the club. I cannot see where the improvement is coming from if he is so tactically useless and does not optimally use what he's got

they buy names, we buy potential.

I agree......but would a big name come to us?
Some managers work wonders without the expectations.

It must be difficult, but he hasn't made it easy for himself.

yes, but at a cost and would our owners pay it?

you want quality, you have to pay for it, simples.

I personally think they should just payout. Bring some quality in and really go for it.
They have the money.
Just hope we aren't the new Arsenal whilst our stadium is being upgraded......
.......saying that least they came top 4 in the process.

We won't play the diamond unless something g drastic happens ie fan pressure, injuries etc.

When Sturridge comes back, he'll play wide in a front 3. This what Rodgers wants - he wants a target man.

Last 14 games. 15 points. 4 wins. 3 draws. 7 losses. 11 goals. 25 conceded.

The last 2 games isn't just a couple of random performances. It's a continuance from last season where we are arguably worse.

The man is clueless - he persists with dross, he genuinely doesn't see the weak links, and he plays players out of position. This happens every season.

He seems to want to make Benteke into something he isn't. Somehow, fans have bought into the bullshit that Benteke can adapt to a passing on the deck style just because he has made a couple of runs over the past 5 years. Play to his strengths!! He's a decent player.

Get Rodgers out of this club and get the other two useless twats out as well (SOD and Mac).

Can't see Rodgers playing Sturridge out wide, personally. He even opted to put Suarez out wide against Arsenal (a) before having Sturridge out there.

We have Origi and Ings. Both played out wide. No logic, no sense.

Which is why I think he'll do the same with Sturridge. The man is clueless.

I don't think he views Sturridge in the same way he views them. They are just squad players who are there to fill in across the front 3 positions, Sturridge is a key player and I can see Rodgers doing everything to get him & Benteke up top together and hope they win games on their own

One thing that was obvious from yesterday though, the Milner experiment isn't going to last much longer. We all knew there was a good reason why he's always demanded to be played centrally but never been given the responsibility. He was awful, Joe Allen is 10x the central midfielder Milner will ever be.

Milner looks a bit like the ailing "ex-pro" in a local five-a-side :(

<laugh>

Sad thing he's always been the work horse who occasionally pops up with a good performance. I guess its because he hardly played at City his skills were greatly overestimated. I remember someone saying that every game certain players don't play they get better and better, and I'd say that's definitely true for Milner.

This is Milner. It's nothing new.

He is only every going to succeed with quality players around him and even then, it's as a winger.

He's not a CM and never has been apart from 20 odd games for Villa around 5 years ago. There's a reason why City didn't want to pay so much for a squad player, and yet we make him our highest earner.

He was captain yesterday and I didn't see any leadership from him - Can showed more balls and bottle. People think Milner is a captain because of his age and experience. Wrong.

This is not me saying he's a bad player - it's saying we could have that £150k a week in wages on 2 better players who would have cost more in transfer fees but would have been here for a lot longer and have resale value. But most were blinded by the fact he was a 'free transfer' and won titles for City.

Why are you obsessed with trying to spin everything back on the fans? Do you think we had a say in transfers?

Agree with most, but Benteke is far more than a bit target man. You need to give him more than 4 games where he's been isolated because he's had 0 support.

We all know your feelings on Firmino and I hope he improves and hopefully he will if played centrally where he is obviously better, but you stick up for Firmino on a regular basis and make plenty of excuses for his average performances so far, but you're very quick to say Benteke can't do this or can't do that after 5 games... it's quite hypocritical.

Benteke has had 3 seasons at Villa where they've gone long to him all the time and it will take time for him to adapt to a different style but he's shown plenty of glimpses. Against Arsenal his movement was very good in the first half when we got players up and around him, it's only in the other games where he's had no one withing 20 yards of him that he's looked like he won't cut it.

The guy will score goals, especially if he's actually partnered up top by Sturridge or with Coutinho/Firmino behind him.

It was said by some <whistle> that Benteke wouldn't/couldn't make goals for himself. Perfect example yesterday of a goal out of nothing.

(He actually scored quite a few for Villa out of little or nothing also so I think that myth should be de-bunked)

All his goals for Villa. Plenty of crosses but plenty of him creating or from outside the box etc.

I put at Christmas because I don't believe we have anyone lined up currently and I think we would end up managerless for a while whilst franticly searching for a manager which could end up badly and we could lose even more points than with him there.

I'd be putting feelers out to managers now with the aim of replacing him by Christmas.

Here are some of the reasons for me that he's had his chance and should go:

- Letting Pepe go and replacing him with Mignolet was criminal.
- The handling of Gerrard leaving.
- His inability to admit when he has made a mistake. He's from the American school of total positivity.
- His endless post-match bullshit interviews where he talks total bollocks and embarrasses us all.

However the main reasons are as follows:

- His incredible ability to waste massive amounts of money.
- His inability to replace average players with better ones.
- Small club mentality. He's scared of United and Chelsea.
- Playing a part in the failure to keep top talent happy at the club.
- Confirming us as an average team. He's had money to reverse the slide but has totally failed in that respect.

We now have a squad full of average to good players and not a single world class one.

We're a less attractive club now than when Roy left.
