Yes, Rodgers has now totally worn out his welcome with me. Today he spent his last ever credit and he is now persona non grata, which if you know your latin, translates as **** off you thick, short-arsed gypo!

This is what he spent his credits on with me.
1. The American documentary series
i. Saying OK far too much
ii. Having that self-portrait up in his house
iii. Having all his gypo traveler family in his house (about 16 of them)
iv. Being overcome by the car the club gave him.
2. Getting rid of Pepe on loan
3. Dumping his wife, getting his teeth done and shacking up with one of the staff.
4. Buying Fabio Borini
5. Selling Dirk Kuyt
6. Selling Daniel Agger
7. Giving Pepe Reina away while persisting with below average Simon Mignolet.
8. Buying Simon Mignolet
9. Not training Simon Mignolet to distribute the ball better.
10. Persisting with Joe Allen, when he never offers any reason why he is worth it.
11. Being far too slow to make changes when thigs are not working.
12. Having his favourites and not giving other players a chance.
13. Letting everyone take the fall for his poor coaching ability.
14. Being scared of Man U.
15. Having never shown any of the tactical nouce he had in his big manual that got him the job.
16. Today's performance against Man U.

P.S. I do realise that he has managed to ditch a lot of dead wood too, but that was the credit he spent today.

I posted this in the match day thread, but would be better here.

Man UTD were the deserved winners in that match yesterday. I thought Milner had a bad game, he was largely anonymous. With the way we set up yesterday I would have thought Origi would have suited wide better than Ings. To be fair to Ings he had a decent game considering what he was being asked to do. I have been supportive of Rodgers but I am struggling to see any improvement, we have digressed from the season we finished second. I just don't understand why Rodgers has decided to blunt our best weapon even further (loosing Suarez) by setting us up to hang back to just hope we don't concede, leaving one player up top and I team of players who have no idea how to transition from defending to attacking on the break. It really is depressing to watch, to use a cliche phrase, square pegs in round holes.

The blame isn't just with rogers, there is something not right with the structure, how often do we hear or see the owners these days? What's really going on with the transfer committee? What were changes in the coaching staff meant to offer us on the pitch? There are lots of questions that need to be answered internally. Each department needs to start asking themselves honest questions in order for to improve. These questions are not just for the manager to answer.

Milner is not a CM. Benteke is not a mobile, dynamic striker. Lovren and Skrtel are not defenders. Gomez is not a left back. Firmino and Ings are not wide men.

The system and selection is designed to fail and Rodgers is blind to this

For me, the bulk of issues regarding our team stem from stubborness. Let me put this to you; Has there been a central partnership (under Rodgers) with Skrtel in it, that has worked? Yet he persists with him, I'm not saying he's a bad defender, but clearly he's not the right fit in a Rodgers team. Persisting with Lovren, when we actually have a half decent CB who doesn't deserve to be out of the team. **** it, I would of applauded Rodgers at the start of the season if he had the balls to try something completely new, even put Gomez at CB, or Ilori. What use is it keeping three clean sheets than shipping in six in two games? For what, boring football?

We've not brought a top class CM since Rodgers arrived, Can, Alberto, Allen.. Sahin was the only player who came close. Yet he buys Milner this season who let's be honest is an experienced Henderson. Which is FINE if he's playing as competition to Henderson, yet he puts them in to the same eleven, effectively sacrificing a place in the team.

On top of all this, he creates deadwood quicker than he gets rid of them. Honestly it's embarrassing, how many duds have been bought under Rodgers tenure? Transfer comittee or no comittee, we have millions of pounds worth of "talent" on the bench, but, the only ones playing are his own personal signings (clearly) which demonstrates a potential rift or disagreement behind the scenes with our recruitment set-up. Of course this is speculation, but we can't have it at this level.

Rodgers is a good manager, and won't get the credit he deserves for the 13/14, season (different subject altogether). But we have a talented squad and to be frank, it's needs a new direction and fresh ideas, as three years in and there's no structure, philosophy or style in the team. I think the man himself needs a new challenge, perhaps he's become to comfortable, but I feel it's going to be extremely hard for him to win back the supporters now, and I think the way he set up against Man Utd yesterday demonstrates a man who is fearing for his job and doesn't want to take the risks any more.

I'm torn. My gut always rebels against the idea of getting rid of a manager mid season as its unlikely you'll get a top class replacement which is the only thing you should be going for. The upside is the new guy gets to see the squad before his first window.

Do I want to see a whole year of this directionless crap? No.

I would love to see him turn this around but I can't see it happening

You missed out Lovren from that list, not to mention Balotelli and Lambert, but OK, those two have gone now. Failing to bin off Skrtel...etc etc

I hate to see a Liverpool manager fail - who does? (apart from our rivals!) But he's had four seasons and we're still going nowhere. When Suarez was with us that was the exception to the rule. Had Hodgson been in charge that season we probably would have finished 2nd then, too!

He's still won us nothing, is clueless in Europe and his tactics don't work in the Prem. The party's over. Time to start clearing up the mess.

See, the thing is this: would FSG know a top class manager if one smacked them in the face? I don't think they would.

Both teams have wasted a lot of money in becoming quite average, and to a certain extent I think only the history of the shirt protects them from being dragged into mediocrity where they belong. Not for much longer, the likes of Crystal Palace and Swansea smell blood.

The market is abysmal at the moment for the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool. So desperate are both for quality, they buy anything with a £20 mill + price tag without due diligence. Markovic? Can? Lovren? Depay? How close would these players get to a Liverpool/Man Utd team 5 years ago? Answer is, they wouldn't make the reserves.

Clyne and Darmian are great little buys, the rest of the transfers over the last 2 years at least have been a travesty, so Brendan and LVG should go. At least Rafa could keep the team playing decently after he spunked money up the wall consistently.

I don't buy the argument that we only finished second because of Suarez as we played some fantastic football without him and it was Rodgers who set up the team to get the most of Luis when he did play. He did, however, make many mistakes which us 'negative supporters' got a lot of flak for highlighting at the time (why can't we just be happy with 3 points and a win? ). I think he started ok, lots of mistakes but showed promise with good football, reached his peak with some mistakes but still good football, then collapsed to keeping the same mistakes but playing **** football.

Give him time, young manager doing well and he'll learn from his mistakes. Well, four years in now and he's still making the same mistakes and doesn't appear to be learning anything whilst the quality drains from the team.

Big issues for me which mean I'm happy for someone else to come in:

• 4-3-3 with a huge striker is fine. Playing that way without wide men (left footed on the left, right footed on the right) to swing the ball in and stretch their defense is criminal.
• We all pretty much unanimously agree Sakho is our best CB and yet he never plays. Equally, why persist with Lovren and Skrtel (who I agree isn't great in a high line, although I do feel he could be a good defender in a deep line next to Sakho) when we have some young talent who are at least worth a chance.
• We still can't defend after four years of trying.
  
• Many of us agreed that we needed a genuine quality midfielder in the summer to either protect or to create. We got another jack of all trades to go with Henderson, Can and Allen meaning we create nothing and resort to lumping it forward and straight.
  
• Markovic? At least he has pace, can stretch wide and has some potential but hey, lets ship him out on loan.
  
• Bogdan? So we're ****ed if Mignolet has another bout of poor form because, lets be honest, he's not going to get replaced by that lad.
• Dire football. We've never scored less legitimate goals in our opening 5 games and despite the happy-go-lucky fanbase who were fawning over our opening clean sheets and wins, they weren't exactly comfortable nor convincing.
• He seems more concerned with his pride and battling the owners over transfers than playing his best team set out to win.
  
• A blinding lack of belief and passion amongst the squad. It's just obvious that have no clue what to do, nor do they seemingly care about the club when they play.

He's lost the plot, out of ideas and he's clawing to hold onto what he's got. It shows. I don't see any top drawer player coming to us right now so unless some of our lads really step up (which they won't under Rodgers) we'll just keep on falling. Coutinho will be off in the Summer at this rate and then there's no one because he'll have alienated the other players with potential. He needs to go now before we get worse.

Don't agree with Klopp, he's another gamble. Ancelotti is proven quality and a big enough name to convince some good players to come. He'd get far more out of the squad than white teeth.

Keep him till the end of season unless things go drastically wrong. The fact is we've spent so much money on new players he wanted in the summer it'd be stupid to sack him after 5 games.

When Sturridge is fully fit have us go back to a diamond 4-4-2 with Sturridge + Benteke upfront. Can, Allen, Henderson & Firmino in midfield. Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho & Moreno defence. See how it goes.

I agree with a lot of the above. But there is a difference between the mancs and lfc as far as manager and recruitment is concerned. Not that I am particularly bothered about them. They have improved their team even if you argue that the improvement is slight and the investment massive. Their manager plays boring football but he unlike Rodgers does not constantly get rogered (outwitted) by top managers. Rodgers record against any manager in the top 5-6 is pretty appalling.

It is about hope and the direction of the club. I cannot see where the improvement is coming from if he is so tactically useless and does not optimally use what he's got

Any turnaround will be temporary. There is no way in hell Rodgers will suddenly change his mindset. He is what he is. We will not reach the next level under him. We have the 7th most expensive squad in the world and yet we have a Coefficient of 42. It's beyond a joke how much Rodgers has under performed given the funds he's had poured on him, the wastage makes me sick to my stomach.

You have faith in him to either play a diamond (yesterday was the perfect time to do so and he had the starting XI to fit as well) or play Moreno at LB?

I would say things are drastically wrong now! Not because of results or points but mostly due to a lack of belief/passion amongst the players and the level of our performances. If you play well, results will come. If you play **** but get points, the points will dry up eventually. We're definitely in this latter group..
