I'm far from Grabban's biggest fan, but come on, what a complete load of negative propaganda! No positives at all? Not even his goal at Portman Road to put us top last season? Once again, we don't know all the facts of what has happened here, so what gives anyone the right to play judge, jury and excecutioner?
Munky I really can't see anything positive about the whole debacle, personally I have never rated Grabban that highly and I would have prefered it if we had sold him regardless of the fact it would have been too late to bring in someone to replace him.
Glass half emtpy, ranting, whinging, full of negativity, only mentioning the bits that satisfy your side of the argument and ignoring the rest - that sort of thing
For the record I'm no big fan of Grabban either, and I too would have happily seen him moved on during the window and I'd have happily trousered Bournemouth's first offer and kept hold of Ricky. But that didn't happen, AN sees something he likes in him and whilst I can't agree with him from what I've seen of Grabban myself, I'm prepared to trust him on it as I at least recognise it's a football based decision and he feels he offers our squad something that nobody else does. Bournemouth obviously did as well to have offered what they did on deadline day, if the stories we hear are to be believed anyway (massive caveat on that last part)
I'm not defending Grabban at all, I'm actually defending fair and reasonable debate - as should you as the site moderator. What part of "I'm far from Grabban's biggest fan" in my post escaped you?
Yau mean as a moderator I'm not allowed a fan's opinion? I posted to KIO before your post had registered, so have one back!
And importantly this has created division, as is clear from this board. We are suddenly at each other's throats again when we had been so united.
I only rant when I feel the need to do so and my glass is not always 'half empty' and as for mentioning only the bits that satisfy my side of the argument, I think we're all guilty of that from time to time don't you ?
Well I'm not at anybody's throat but I'll be damned if I can't have an opinion because I'm a moderator!
And OK, so it doesn't matter if we squabble on here, but has this created factions within the squad? The only way we are going to stay up is if we are totally united and play for each other. If it's true that Bournemouth offered what they did, we should have got rid - simple.
When did I say you weren't allowed an opinion?? It was fair and reasonable debate I said I was defending, you know, the sort of debate where people pay attention to what others actually say, and not put words into their mouths or make things up that they didn't say in order to (try to) look clever and, dare I say it, funny Looks like you need to try a bit harder skipper
Precisely, it will have inevitably caused tensions within the squad. Did anyone else listen to 'The Scrimmage' on Radio Norfolk last night ? Iwan Roberts was in the studio and was pretty scathing of Grabban and admitted that had it happened in his day there would have certainly been more than a few words said to him by the other players.
That would appear to be saying I should allow good debate but that I can't join in because I'm a mod!
No it doesn't, it doesn't suggest anything of the sort What happened was that Singapore listed a load of negative things about Grabban, choosing not to mention anything positive about him at all, nothing about what he might offer us and nothing about anything good he has done for us - such as the Ipswich goal to put us top at Portman Road for example - and instead he chose to pointlessly speculate about how a sending off last season "could have cost us promotion" and how "he could have cost us the league cup game" last week against Rotherham. Now to me that's not reasonable debate, that's just looking at it from one incredibly blinkered angle and is tantamount to propaganda from where I'm sitting, and that's why I called it such. You then somehow (I'm not quite sure how your mind works sometimes, forgive me) took it from that that I was merely defending Grabban, which I clearly was not! I opened my response to Singapore by saying that "I'm no big fan of Grabban", something you clearly chose to ignore, which clearly says more about you than it does I I'm afraid. All I was getting at was that we don't know all the facts and are not privy to personal conversations and therefore we don't know the whole story - at no point did I say or even allude that you weren't allowed an opinion, you've just completely made that up to try to make me look bad and to try to make you look clever - which is exactly the opposite of reasonable debate Do you understand what I am saying now or so you want me to spell it out to you again?
