My main argument was that from the owners perspective, it was better to stick with the devil they knew. Give him what he's asking for and let what he's started continue rather than get a new man in with a new philosophy and a complete overhaul.

Gerrard only left because he had been told he wasn't going to get full 90 every week and being dropped vs Real was the clincher. Sterling had an up and down relationship with Rodgers and Johnson wasn't offered a new contract.

What is the minimum FSG will tolerate? What they tolerated last season IMO.

Look, I don't wish to appear funny or anything, but BR should have gone at the end of last season. The fact that he hasn't means that FSG have been sweet talked into letting him stay. Why? They know sod all how our game works. They're basically Americans more into silly man's rounders. Sorry, but that's how I see it.

Nothwithstanding the Suarez era of finishing 2nd, Rodgers has won us bugger all when all is said and done. Stick around, there's more of this ****e to come.

I donate £5 to the negativity box <ok>

I think the African White Rhino has more chance of survival than Rodgers. He just is not brave enough to go with an attacking side when he should do, like against West Ham. His playing of players out of their best position is also very annoying and will assist his downfall.

Having said that I think if he is there at Xmas he will survive this season.

We don't need a complete overhaul, we have quality players.

I just want a manager who can adapt by each game. Yeah it's fine to play defensive against Arsenal away but when we're playing West Ham at home I want attacking intent. The same tactic can't beat every team and that is simple football knowledge.

With respect Gerrard left because he knew he had no legs and had gone past his buy on. He may talk about not playing for another PL club and that's fair..
But he didn't go to those offers in Europe because he knew the time was up for elite football.

Great player, great captain but his time had come and actually if it hadn't been a manager as young as him he'd have faced it sooner.

FSG is interested in the business/company remaining profitable. With the huge amount of cash coming in, that will keep lfc in profit territory as long as the manager does not do a LVG and buys youngsters for £60m. That is why they will keep Rodgers unless we are at risk of relegation or start losing so many matches that we slide into the bottom half and/or risk doing even worse next season

No we don't need a complete overhaul - try telling that to a new manager - we also didn't need it when Rodgers took over but he's gone about removing every trace that was here when he came.

I was going on what Gerrard said himself, Frank. He gave up international duty to prolong his career and was even willing to take up a new position on the pitch to accommodate that. He was never going to be an automatic starter for a European side either as you rightly say, US seemed an obvious choice. But I firmly believe he would still be here with better management.

I agree - if we had offered Gerrard a contract sooner, and if he wasn't benched against Real, he would still be a player. Nothing to do with the fact that he PERSONALLY felt he wasn't good enough.

He will always be a legend but he is a big reason for our downfall in recent times (directly and indirectly).

Good points about the amount of change Rodgers has made - the fact he's made so many changes each year shows you how poor we have been in the market. Each year feels like we're rebuilding.

If you take the infrastructure away, you have to be sure what you're putting in it's place is stronger and better, I don't believe we're doing that. If you have at the outset what you think is a good idea but it isn't working in practise you have to adapt and change and that's been Rodger's biggest downfall, failure to adapt and/or change.

    Would you fancy Klopp?
My concern is he'll be a German version....?
Although he could do well for us, he's come out and said he would go to a team that isn't in Champs League.....surely us....!!

Would you give Bredan till Xmas?

Surely if not in top 4 by Jan he has to go?

Hmmm I wonder if Igor Biscan would consider returning as manager.
