So, with very little difference in stats and 10 years between transfers i guess £7m is not all that much then
Except Rooneys figure includes the add-ons (which granted, have probably been paid by now) whereas Martials doesn't (or are you expecting him to be a failure?)
Arsenal fans organised a protest at lack of players turning up during transfer window..... But no fans turned up to it... #isntitironic #alaniswouldbeproud
Just thought I'd have a look to see how Raheem compared... 95 leagues games with 18 goals (0.19gpg). 129 and 23 overall (0.18gpg) Rooney's gpg record was 0.22 for both Martial's is 0.21 for both
Why Sir Alex Ferguson won't be impressed with Manchester United signing Anthony Martial Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson used Paris Saint-Germain's willingness to pay €45m for a 19-year-old as proof that the game had 'gone mad' three years ago. "I find it quite amazing that a club can pay €45 million for a 19-year-old boy," he said. "They must have spent about €150 million in the last month. "When somebody's paying €45 million for a 19-year-old boy you have to say the game's gone mad." However, United paid a similar fee for Monaco striker Anthony Martial on transfer deadline day in a deal that could make the forward the most expensive French player of all time. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...-united-signing-anthony-martial-a2925576.html
I agree totally, but I also agree that the hypocrisy coming out of OT and of its fans(and not606 posters)shows that even though Lord Buckfast has gone his "don't do as I do, do as I say"hypocrisy lives on.
YEs its getting pretty cleat that while madrid were pushing this to last day by refusing to pay utd's ridiulous price Utd have engineered this to fail and now want to give the guy the same offer he had. If i were de gea i'd ask in negoitations to by my contract out and if they let him i'd do so, sit back 6 months. sign for madrid in january and play for them for rest of year and be no 1 for spain and madrid then I would not sign a thing for utd.... not one thing.. cos now whatever offer there was to him he will now move a free agent so its going up... and that will suit madrid too as the vlue of the money over time is obviously less than up front. cannot forget that the fact is the guy was in madrid sent over and left to stew for the day only for this to occur so if utd fans want to sing they he will play line work away. but you'll have to admit.. you'd just mug off your actual keeper now if he does play
sterling is a winger..... martial is meant to be a straight up striker.... he's also playing semi pro in france... we all know who long it took cisse (never) to adapt having had a great record in france and being older this one is for the future... look at theirry henry and how long he took to settle here! to be fair to utd they should have time to let him settle in..... al lthe time they need.
Nah. United submitted their half of the paperwork on time, the failure of this lies with Madrid. What their motives are is anyones guess, or maybe just a simple **** up? Who knows. What is certain is that United had no intention of allwoing a £30m asset walk out the door for £0. The offer of a new contract post the **** up is the one thing they can now do to try and salvage the situation. I can't see it working and De Gea will sign a pre-contract agreement with Madrid in Jan with a whopping salary and a massive signing on fee. So it's happy days all round for him. The fact that he'll have to put a United shirt back on for 9 months will be something he'll get his head around and will be softened by the thought of the bounty that awaits him next summer.
I'm giving martial every chance here and not trying to slaughter a young guy on a big big fee cos i know he's higly rated.. All i'm saying is he should not be for today or the next 3 months. if he slots in and gets it straight away it'll be amazing... thats all. It'll be interesting.
