Should have based Firminos add ons on him winning the Ballon dor, then they wouldn't be included either
I'm sure Monaco would agree to receive an extra £23m if he goes onto become best player in the world playing for an English team (given has only happened once in how many years?)
Maybe the 1 in 5 senior goal ratio swung it Maybe the French football expert saying everyone in France is gobsmacked by the fee Or maybe, granny shagger, your 2nd in command hadnt heard of him Or maybe, just maybe, Utd are ****ing desperate and are trying to compete with the loud neighbours and spend lots to appease the plastics #maybe
Or maybe, just maybe, Monaco are so convinced by him that they think they will actually get that add on money one day. Otherwise it would seem a pretty pointless add on as the fee would never reach that amount
£136.5 million, just let that sink in first, £136.5m on three players Add another £20m for Delph and Roberts, so £156.5m spent in total Who can compete with that? FFP what a joke
It's a no lose for them is it? Big whack either way bigger whack if you lot do the hard work with him.
£36m for a kid is astronomical, therefore the add on would seem pointless unless somebody thought they might actually get it. It's an unusual condition, I have never heard of it being part of a sale before.
I think it is but then I talk in figures people can relate to like "give us £20 for it". On the other hand it is only £7m more than we paid for Rooney at the same age 10 years ago and things have gone through the roof since then.
Utd obvs, the shirts they're selling for buying a guy that no Mancs had heard of and an uncapped teenager, they're flying off the shelves
Yep, and we will pass ffp, City on the other hand may find they don't. FFP has not been scrapped, the rules are not much different from the original set.
I heard someone on TalkSport trying to justify the figure. TalkSport were saying £36m (excludes add-ons) for a nineteen year old that's scored just nine goals was crazy. The caller said paying £50m (actually £49m and includes the add-ons) for a nineteen year old that's only scored seven is worse #defelectionattemptfail PS...using the Sterling deal as a bench mark is a joke in itself, he isn't worth £49m (including add-ons)
Really weird condition, it can only be to make the transfer look better. Still i do wonder if it only applies to the time he plays with us or if we will still have to pay it when he wins it whilst playing for Madrid
One had already played in the Pl 67 times scoring fifteen goals? 77 games and 17 goals overall. Just looked at Martial's stats and they're not too dissimilar... 52 league games and 11 goals (where did the seven goals stat come from ), 72 and 15 overall.
To be fair the Rooney comparison is closer, Martial has played half as many league games as Rooney and scored half as many goals so pretty close. Given the 10 year gap and the mad rise in transfer fees £7m difference doesn't look too ridiculous.
