Assuming the top four requirement is purely based on gaining CL footy,
Would limping to fifth and a EL win be acceptable?

Suppose it means trophy with more mainland European prestige and CL quaplification after pre qualification to attract the players plus CL money?

Is it likely if we are limping along in the league..or maybe that's why we are limping, midweek EL lol

I pointed this out last year and will point it out again. No player who want's Cl football will base a long term move/contract on one random qualification, they will be looking at teams that regularly qualify and can "almost" guarantee CL football.

Or they may feel their introduction would make that difference and therefore contribute to the achievement? Nah, I'm not buying it either <laugh>

Maybe, but if we finish top four this season that will be two out of the last three so...........

Yep, I was going to add that but didn't want to make it a comment that seemed aimed at Liverpool. It would also be the case that if United failed to qualify this season it would be two out of three and players may think twice.

Has to win a trophy to stay.... FAC, EL or "4th place trophy" must be achieved this year... if we don't win any of those then can't see the owners giving him another year.

He'll have to deliver 4th this season or they'll shoot him and rightly so given the budget he's had to work with

He's spent 10m net this window... you lot have even outdone that <whistle>

Yes... EL win and 6th would be acceptable.

EL comes above any other comp we are playing in (bar the Prem but we aren't winning it lets be honest) and way above 4th/3rd or 2nd in the Prem.

Why way above those two?

Never mind, CL pre-lims + a trophy <ok>

I'd rather win the EL and finish sixth than win nothing and finish second, third or fourth UNLESS the latter included the chance of winning the PL in the final couple of game.

However, I'd take exciting football over all of it.
