I think the thing this will show (if nothing happens) is the same thing that has been needed for around a decade - a replacement for David Dein. Then that person can identify and sound out transfers, not waiting/relying on Wenger to get deals over the line. Then if Wenger wants the player, all good, if not then it gives him more time to identify up and coming/unknown players like viera, fabregas, Anelka ect...
It's depressingly infuriating supporting the Gunners. Seems we have perennially become the nearly men of English football under Arsene. This squad is sooo close to being TOP class, I can't understand why we're not doing everything we can to add the required signings. Over the last 10 Seasons it's been this way. Ok so we are finally adding the odd big signing but there's still holes in the squad that even the least intelligent football analyst can see. Don't get me wrong when all is said and done I will support the Club and the Team but If we don't address the issue this Summer its fair to assume we are NEVER going to win the league again under Arsene.
I would agree with that yeah. Im not sure Arsene would be happy to have anyone take that role way from him now though.
Yup, on the BBC. Apparently United officials sent the paperwork one minute too late, so the deal hasn't gone through. Well, that's put a spanner in the works...
This can be seen in two ways. 1) United have kept a top class goalkeeper for at least until January or if they're lucky, until the Summer. This keeper is a cut above all their other keepers and - who knows - he may well change his mind about leaving United as the season progresses. or 2) They have essentially kept a player at the club who will be very unhappy at this news and they will have potentially lost out on around £30m for him because he can leave for free in a few months.
You would think that De Gea will be fuming after angling for a move all summer for it to be scuppered at literally the last minute. He's basically trapped at Utd now with LVG not playing him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him seek legal action against Utd for failing to secure his move once it had been agreed. Not a good situation at Utd at all.
That's the way I see it as well, but there's contrasting reports coming out from United and from Real Madrid. Madrid claim that United didn't hand in the paperwork on time, but United have said that they did. If United can provide evidence that they did in fact hand all the documentation on time, I assume the deal would still go through, right?
Wow what a depressing transfer window. Another season of having Giroud lead our front line, how underwhelming.
So disgusted at this club and manager, an absolute disgrace from us this summer. I am counting the days until this manager leaves us.
You do know that the French, Spanish, German and Dutch transfer windows are all closed now? Unless we're planning on getting a striker from England or from any other random country, which won't be the case as there is sh1t all elsewhere. Face facts, we're getting feck all
There is now a story doing the rounds that if Madrid can prove they did everything right they'll. sue Man Utd for €40 million for breach of contract
Why the **** are my posts being deleted? Am I supposed to kiss Wenger's ass? The man has no ambition, him and that gutless board who only sell lies to the fans every year. I hope the fans tear into him and the board when the results don't go our way.
