With a goalkeeper and just one attacker added and a better manager we sure have a chance. Not a manager that thinks mata is better as a right sided midfielder while fellaini plays no 10 or no 9.
We else would you have as coach that would guarantee you the league? You're talking about LVG that has won the league everywhere that he went. So I don't get the hyperbole comments about his credentials.
Given that we've just agreed 40million euros plus a keeper who Real previously paid 10million euros for I'm guessing that United's stance was "this is the price we'll accept, if you don't pay that we keep the player" and Real eventually caved. To be fair to Woodwood he's done well here. Shame he's blown the money on the new Bellion.
There's some talk that the reason it's gone to the wire with this is bcos United had held out for Bale in the deal up until now.
Bellion lol. I remember that guy. Fergie made some traffic transfers. To be fair, transfers are all about gambling on future that isn't guaranteed.
I must say that IF it is true then it is a cracking deal for us. We've always been ****ing doormats. For once we get something out of a bad situation. £29m for a GK on the last year of his contract and a good better than average GK in return to boot, I never thought Woodward could have pulled it off. Credit where credit is due.
I saw some of Navas saves the other day and I was truly hoping for this outcome. Let De Gea go home and bring in someone who is hungry and proven.
No mate he's not. He's an awful manager who has failed everywhere he's ever been. Those league titles at every club he's ever been at were nothing more than a typo, or it was an easy league, fluke, alternate dimension, bungs or other? All very concerning
Impossible. Off with his head. The issue with Navas is he is awful on crosses. Though many considered him the best keeper in LA liga prior to his move to Madrid, apparently. That was at a time when Calamity still played for A. Madrid.
Give it a go by all means. 7 league titles 1 CL and 1 UC plus a scattering of domestic cups across Europe. Theres 2 other CL finals too. He's also 4 games into this season but we've been written off already...
Well he's right tbf. I could use Jose's stats this season to show how he's rubbish. Half of Bayern's fans are unhappy with Pep too, so based on that and using fan logic, he too could be rubbish. Let's just say everyone's rubbish except Dean Windass
Yes he has a champions league... But so does Benitez and Capello, who I'd argue are both average as managers of top teams tootoo. His record at Bayern was good initially but ended with him getting sacked. Winning the bundesliga with bayern is hardly a testament of managerial ability. Indeed, losing 20% of your games as bayern manager is pretty weak. At Barca he alienated many top drawer players and had a win ratio of just over 50% in both stints and won absolutely nothing in his second spell with a spate of poor signings (ringing bells?) before moving on. His league win at AZ was quite impressive, but meh, that's not a top league and not a position with any pressure attached.
Look at Barcelona, they won the treble without Guardiola. Which is proof that Guardiola had a big stroke of luck having the greatest players of the generation during his time there. As for his record in Germany, Bayern took every great player from every competition that they had which effectively destroyed all the other teams. I bet even Moyes would have a good shot at winning the league with Bayern. Now, I'm not suggesting that Guardiola deserves no create for being a great manager, but simply trying to show that there are other contributing factors than just having a magic wand.
Almost. Some other club signed a player who is nothing more than the next Ashley young for 49million. And a lad who failed last time round for 56million. This deals nothing in comparison. Still mental though.
