Mate, if we were signing Bale and Griezmann today you would be whinging about it. Its your MO.

His price is of unfortunately on a par with other players around Europe. That's just how it is sadly.

If he played for Barcelona people would be less bothered tbh. Strange world we live in.

Maybe treble won fridays euromillions and Eds asked him for a borrow. Hence the concern.

I said ignore the price. Christian it's all about the player. You are talking about resting our whole season on the shoulders of a 19 year old? We wouldn't have even done that with Ronaldo. For £40m-£50m we could have bought a proven striker.

    We're not though.

None of us have heard of this bloke. That's the difference. It's a LOT of money for that.

Only an imbecile who has spoken to me about this countless times would still fail to see the point here. Would you like me to highlight it in neon lights? I DON'T WANT A SUPERSTAR!

Let that sink in before you respond ffs!

I know it is difficult for many fans but if people do not look at the prices paid then the picture is clearer. I NEVER look at the prices paid.

If a player comes in, does he improve our first team?
If one leaves (likeDegea) does he weaken it?

This obsession with the fee paid (just £3m more than the RS donkey) clouds the picture.

For 40-50m I wouldn't buy an unproven kid for sure. Like k said we waited too long and I think it's down to lvg who got rid of all our strikers and decided we didn't need replacement. Lukaku for 40-45m would have been a better buy. There are not too many world class strikers available. I think if we had pushed for griezman we could have signed him for 40-50m. Atletico Madrid are a selling club and griezman is versatile, can play on the flanks or in the middle.

The only positive I see about martial is that he is young and for pace and he is french. Most french players do well in the premier league. I guess we just have to wait to see how he turns out. We are overpaying for him though because it is a PANIC buy.

Yes. But who? They are thin on the ground and if a donkey like benteke cost £33m then where are you going to get a top striker for that money? I genuinely believe that Woodward and LVG went for Bale and the very top available strikers irrespective of asking price but they were not released.

I said a week ago, Llorente would have been a decent purchase. Our style (even under LVG) would suit his style when he played for Bilbao. He's not just a target man as those who've never seen him play seem to think. He's a ball player and proper attacker. And he was free <ok> I'm not saying he's the best by any means but he's a proven striker worth taking a punt on.

You can do this smoke and mirrors bullshit all day long UIR, but despite your firefighting everything I've said on here over the last few months has been proved right. The lack of any planning or strategy in our transfers, the distraction from reactionary signings which never materialised, rather than actually targeting specific players. It's a mess. Chickens coming home to roost today.

Surely by the end of this transfer window we should have been in a position to challenge for the title at least. The fact we aren't backs me up perfectly. If you're so c0cky, I dare you to say that we're going to challenge for the title or the CL with this manager and the squad as it is today? :)

Llorente does not fit the profile of a player we would want to buy. He us clearly on the way down.

We are quite clesrly in a position to challenge. Theres been 4 games and only one of our direct rivals has more points than us.

Not sure what you have been proved right on or that it was a competition.

    :)

I refuse to believe a club like United hasn't got a strategy on buying players.
