I thought mist of us recognise this season will be the opposite of last time in the championship - can we not try to let things settle down post transfer window?

WE are £200m in debt thanks to him and his okay with sh@@e mangers spending like Hughes and Redknapp. Now we find ourselves in the Championship with a FFP bill and an average team. We still have no training ground or any movement on the stadium, we have blown 2 chances in the Premiership and have a shocking kit, and you thinks thats good. You need to get real.
I am real - yes tony doesn't take over and that season back in the prem was with the clowns - u r right of course that would have been great for QPR

As in stay up? That's actually quite depressing Ninesy

Well given that we had folk fretting that we'd double dip and drop again it isn't really depressing Swordsy. Of course that is still possible, but I'm seeing signs of the new Rangers emerging. It's younger, hungrier and pacier than what we've witnessed since Warnock's team and it's emerging quicker than expected. It may well go tits up. ( Disclaimer intended. ) But I think CR & LF are putting together a real and new look Rangers together that the faithful will appreciate in time. There will be ups and downs of course, but we're heading in the right direction.

I realise that you have you're own agenda but you must admit that you're pleasantly surprised at where we stand tonight.

Personally I hope that we have a good solid team to build on. No more wholesale changes every season. No more nine or ten players in and out. One, two or three additions to improve the squad would be nice for a change. Sky Sports will hate it though.

That we couldn't turn down an offer or if we lose Austin, Philips, Fer that would become a bottom half team overnight?

Who knows? What we say on here is merely speculation. You may be right and I may be completely wrong. I think Austin is the only factor here. Fer hasn't featured, Phillips can be replaced and if not, Luongo can play in Phillips position and Tozser can play in the middle. ( Bags of experience at this level.) Today's goal and last Saturday's v Rotherham came from his tenacity down the right. Remember, since last season and this one, Hoilett hasn't had a goal or an assist since Wembley and the Play-Off Final. Luongo has achieved more than him already.

Austin going can be a major factor. But not the other two.

I'd be less bothered about Fer going but Austin + Philips without adequate replacements would be a big loss imo.

On the other hand if we can get rid of Hoilet, Sandro, Traore during this window that would be good business.

I think the only issue is Austin. He'll be hard to replace. But then again you'll never know. I trust that CR has someone lined up. Even if they're not as prolific as Austin hopefully we'll get enough bodies in and around the box to contribute. We haven't had that in a while. But we have that now. Taarabt was the last main contributor before Austin. Chery could be that player.

It's early doors yet. We'll have to wait and see. Once we get this ridiculous transfer window out of the way we will be able to speculate a bit more.

Your patience is admirable
I have other qualities too. I'm quite punctual.

I hate the Championship as much as you Swordsie and wish we weren't in it. I'd celebrate if we got promoted this year, but would expect a rapid and humiliating return. No foundations. This club has a lot of penance to do to make up for the stupidity of the last few years. I'm sure you can find a suitable biblical quotation. Along the lines of

" After the LORD did grant the merchants and usurers of west of the west fields access to the promised land they were profiligate and did spill their seed on the barren ground throughout a full four years. Whilst they danced their people suffered. And the LORD was displeased and gave them a plague of ****ing Redknapp, but still their practices were foul and corrupt and lo, HE cast them into the desert, where they could see but not feast at the table for the premiers, for eight score years and ten. Yea verily, it went tits-up and Fernandez was smote with the jaw-bone of an ass...

What with today being Sunday, and tomorrow a bank holiday....and the window closing early in the day on Tuesday.
Actually I do hope all business is being done behind the scenes as we speak.

It is being stated that Palace have bought to many without selling, so I can see a swap +momey for Austin, with one of there 3 surplus forwards.
Fer is going nowhere.
I do not think Green is going anywhere either (shame)...as the "crisis" at Spam seems to have sorted itself out
I would love Sandro to be sold....but can only see a loan happening after the window shuts

So that leaves Phillips....who I would love to keep, but expect he will go to WBA, where he is needed

Incoming....a central defender (as I have been saying non-stop for 3 months, cannot believe we have left it so long). The Watford guy Angello, fits the bill....and it has gone quiet on that front...so I wonder if the focus is happening behind the scene.

so far Chris and Les have shown a strong front, and held it together well...will I think the same Wednesaday am

The window closes at 6pm on Tuesday. I have this feeling that a panicking Prem club may be after Austin at 5pm after other options have fallen through. This must be CR's fear, that a decent alternative can't be found in time. As Stan says, loans will be open to us but looking at our loans in the past, it isn't the same as having a committed and permanent (the football definition of "permanent") member of the squad.

From what I can gather (I have a little inside knowledge), our youth development squad is really impressive and CR and LF see them as very much our future. This is born out by the appointment of CR as permanent manager. We may not get promoted for a few seasons, but the future's bright, the future's blue and white. U Rrrrrrrrrrrrrs!

I realise that you have you're own agenda but you must admit that you're pleasantly surprised at where we stand tonight.

Honestly mate I'm not. We've just come out of the Prem and have a decent squad. No other Ch'ship side would be surprised to see ourselves and Hull in the top six.

If we lose Austin & Phillips though we'll be lower-mid IMO

I don't think anyone can be transferred before Tuesday.

Yes, clubs & the players can agree deals & even signed on the dotted line.

However, until the various offices open on Tuesday morning nothing can be registered. I'm inclined to believe that for the first time in years we have a strategy for handling the final day of a transfer window!

That may even include knowing what free agents to approach on Wednesday or who we would like on loan when that window opens.

We are not in the Premier. Options after 1st September are available!
