To be honest I've been here 20+ years and don't recall hearing an American use the word. It's not one they use. They almost be never use **** either. Far from the everyday 'light' curseword it is in England it's probably considered the most vulgar word there is in the US. Which is funny considering it wasn't even a slang word at all until 100 years ago.
Little tangent: Did you know "intercourse" used to mean talk (and never meant sex) and "converse" never meant talk but used to always mean sex? Somehow over time they swapped places. Awful use to mean the same thing that awesome means now. University near me is called "converse college". Its an all girls school.
yes the view i have put forward is that for the first time since probably 2007 we've had a genuinely full squad with two players of whatever level for each position and in dded mroe given the numbers on loan. this has enabled a scenario where we should be able to invest our fund in a one in one out model and drive improvements of quality in prior years we have either been selling off the crown jewels and getting frees or taking punts on 7/8 players at a time plus getting in loans to fill gaps. now after a period of stability the club has a squad. the quality of that squad can be debated but it gives a point to improve on as in my view when you start from now it should be "easier" bring in 3 and let 3 go and improve than try to figure out how to get rid of 4/5 dead wood and try and get in 7.
And if you use it in every other sentence it loses its power utterly. I can only remember using it once- and I really meant it.

It still does. It's the qualifier that gives it its meaning. Social intercourse still means social communication. In the phrase " sexual intercourse" the qualifier has been dropped so that schoolboys can snigger whenever they hear it.
