Could have been worse Beefy - we might have scored and gone into extra time and been extra disappointed at the end after another English penalty shootout! Euthanasia has its moments and thankfully ours came today after 94 minutes...
At least I am not the only one swearing tonight. Makes me not feel the odd one out.

This team cannot handle the pressure. We are tactically naive and have not been around the block enough..

Dec14 - carling cup exit to a poor Sunderland team that we previously beat 8-0
Feb15 - poor run of results just as everyone started to take us serious as champions league contenders
April/May15 - champions league is gone but we can still finish above Spurs or Liverpool. Shock horror another poor run or results..

Agree that we just don't, and haven't since JPT, win pressure games. We never really do represent ourselves best in any big games.

They stated on BT sport that we had the sixth lowest payroll. No wonder our better players want to bugger off.

Come on Saints keep the quality players and buy some quality. The ones we have bought in do not do it yet

Did anyone notice the rain? Blimey it looked like the rain that gets you wet.....
Football wise..............roll on Sunday.

Can't be starting long then, he's only good at running, nothing to do with the ball. Other than a once in a blue moon screamer!

He can move defenses around, and he doesn't stand and present a target for long balls. Honestly, that might be enough.

We lost in the league cup quarter finals to Sheff Utd. Sunderland was the season before.

Massively deflating and disappointing after the excitement of qualifying last season. Seems a waste of time to be honest.

I love the enthusiasm and belief of some supporters but I'm not sure how that will be if we lose 1-0 on Sunday [which is entirely feasible]. I reckon Koeman will set up for a 0-0 and hoof the ball to Pelle again - we know how that works.

Something has drastically changed at the club behind the scenes. Why are we playing hoof-ball, no one can answer it and it does appear a few of our players are definitely sub par.

On a better note the ice-hockey season starts Saturday and I have a lot of stats and promotional graphics to create from now on so that should distract me from the pain.

A huge huge problem is our fullbacks. Last season we had two very good fullback providing genuine attacking threat right now we have 0 threat from our fullbacks and poor defensive play aswell. Why wasn't a back up for Bertrand bought? Targett is very clearly a long long way from being ready at this level surely Ron can see that?

The team that best handled the pressure was the championship promotion team.: even that was mostly up to Lamberts ball of still with penalties.. We got a ridiculous amount that season

I think we're playing hoofball because Ronald is trying to compensate (perhaps wrongly) for the missing players by setting up for an ineffective Plan B.
