Add Howard as well.

Does seem odd that Everton rarely have money to spend (lukaku aside) yet they earn just as much if not more than 50% of clubs in prem from TV money etc.

Does make you wonder if wages are high etc? Sure tobes will know bit more about it but you'd think they'd be able to spend 20m each year plus sales.

dunno..

there's some gaps in revenue inevitable but they should be at the very worst on a par with stoke.

but 20mil a year jus tout the door on players is not that easy.

LFC have a **** tonne of easy money coming in that half the prem doesn't. we must be running baout 30mil net a year minimum over FSGs time... prob more i'm sure someone call tell us all.

however..... I dunno.... i feel we speculate while others have to invest.

You have to be realistic though.
There is just as much chance his value could go down, has a shocker at the Euro's, get bad injury, and there is now the added problem of him wanting out.
Plenty of players who have had a big offer, decide to wait and then just fade into the background. Take it while the offer is there, try and screw Chavski now, they seem desperate, may have other options this time next year.
Basically if Man U,City are not looking now, so if Chelsea fill the gap they obviously have and none of these are that interested next year , you ain't going to get anywhere near £30 million never mind 40, unless Brendan takes a liking to him that is
Take the money his leg might fall off or he might suddenly become ****e, failing that oil clubs might decide they don't like English top drawer quality overnight like.

****ing lol.

The money is useless unless we have time to spend it. A week to go doesn't suit the club. I'd be amazed if they accept this request and sell him now.

in fiarness if tobes told us all that with sterling we'd tell him to get the ****....

there is a price for english players now... I think everton can rake it in on this guy.

what if evans is half lined up?

IF it all went down on the last day with evans coming in then stones going out?

what if you net 25mil in the bank.

LFC were blowing £50m a year for 3 years until break even happened when the new TV deal came into play.

You've been massively subsidised by the Shermans. Kenwright and Co have not put 1p into EFC. There's your difference right there.

ahhh but blowing it on what... write off or players.

I agree our bostonians have been gravey... peopel don't appreciate the fair hand on the tiller enough.... e.g. buld the stand... sell it out... build the next one if you think you can sell that one out... then think baout seeing if more peopel can be gotten in.... i like thier careful style.

shame about total lack of football brains.

Net cash in the bank is not what we need at present. If we line up 3 or 4 quality signings and then let him go on deadline day, then I'd be Ok with that. But if he goes and we bring in Evans and no-one else I'd be ****ing livid.

Plucky little Everton eh...know your place and all that.

**** off will ya.

Of course we can afford to keep a £30m defender this season, he's on £35k a week and has 4 years on his contract.

If he continues to develop he'll go to the Euros next summer and will probably increase in value once the new TV cash lands next summer. If he wants away for CL footie at that point, then fair enough, but not now, as we're already weak in that area and a week to go doesn't suit the club, so it shouldn't happen.

We're constantly seeking and bringing in promising youngsters, but you need experience as well and we defo would need to bring in a proven PL CB if he does leave and Evans fits that bill. Only his ****e injury record puts me off him.

I agree about Shaqiri, but we were after Yarmolenko as Martinez first choice, but that now looks to have died an all.

He maybe feels if he goes to Chelsea he has more chance of going

i get you for sure.

Should we bid for Stones?<whistle>

We're above Chelsea in the league, surely we're a more desirable target. Won't have to relocate either.

He wants to move to a big club. Why not us?

He will go,but if he is a Chelsea regular he will more than likely play, either alongside Cahill, or instead of whichever way Jose plays it.
I think he will only get limited playing time at Chelsea, depending how things with Terry pan out, but will be his long term replacement.

Looks like you're signing that guy from Argentina who is a CB so possibly him and Evans as a replacement

It is not our policy to pay over the odds for CB's,or pay the English players premium and at Evertons asking price, simply not going to happen
