Again, like I said before, you should have a list of replacements ready. Hardly unexpected despite the clubs public stance of not selling.
Didn't think Stones would hand in a request. Guess he feels with the way Chelsea defence has been this year that he can play for them this season rather than wait a year as back up.
See Gomez has been handed call up to under 21s. Nice to see bit of recognition for way he's performed so far.
Exactly. If we get a work permit for the Argie we're still 1 down with Stones ffs The board will get dogs abuse if they allow him to go now
Man up? The way Chelsea have orchestrated this via the media is shocking tbh. I hope we tell the player to pipe down and Chelsea to **** off. I really hope the lad ends up going to one of the Manc clubs next summer now.
Everton cannot afford to have a £30m + defender They bought him a couple of years ago and will make a £30 million pound profit. With the limited resources they have they would be far better using this money to strengthen the squad as a whole, but i don't think Man U rejects is the way to go Gibson,Cleverlty and now talk of Evans, they are not going to progress with this standard. Need to go out and find the next Stones etc, I know the fans will want big names, but they are not going to come. I don't recall any great whoops of joy at signing of Stones from Barnsley or wherever he came from, but there must be more talent like this as our own purchase of Gomez has proved Also should have gone all out for someone like Shaquiri, there is no reason why they could not get the type of players Stoke have achieved. Surely Martinez could attract a few Spaniards
so it was just a bit of cheek... you know it.... I think with a week to go either way could happen. I would have to wonder however as the players should know he signed a 5 year deal and should remain professional and not dream of easy medals now the offers are coming. If the fee is agreed then it'll happen... if not it won't but he's not going to have a long season ahead at everton if not... cos there won't be much applause for him during games now. Utd do have blind and smalling working well. rojo and jones too so evans looks to me to be surplus so you might as well just go for him. could see a busy 31st august at goodison.
We will see. Mr O'driscoll despite the abuse intially has paid off his job role already by advising rodgers to buy gomes. 3.5mil for a real young talent is great. there has to be quite a few he knows about. I hope we get them not everton Like delle ali who is supposedly a red but ****ed us over (traitor) and joined spuds... theres talent down there but if clubs set silly fees they can get stuck ibe is another we got.
Plucky little Everton eh...know your place and all that. **** off will ya. Of course we can afford to keep a £30m defender this season, he's on £35k a week and has 4 years on his contract. If he continues to develop he'll go to the Euros next summer and will probably increase in value once the new TV cash lands next summer. If he wants away for CL footie at that point, then fair enough, but not now, as we're already weak in that area and a week to go doesn't suit the club, so it shouldn't happen. We're constantly seeking and bringing in promising youngsters, but you need experience as well and we defo would need to bring in a proven PL CB if he does leave and Evans fits that bill. Only his ****e injury record puts me off him. I agree about Shaqiri, but we were after Yarmolenko as Martinez first choice, but that now looks to have died an all.
Add Howard as well. Does seem odd that Everton rarely have money to spend (lukaku aside) yet they earn just as much if not more than 50% of clubs in prem from TV money etc. Does make you wonder if wages are high etc? Sure tobes will know bit more about it but you'd think they'd be able to spend 20m each year plus sales.
Nope Roy just demands all eligible Liverpool players are forced to travel and put themselves at risk of injury from his outdated techniques. It implies nothing about recognising his performances.
Just checking you've been paying attention While you're here feel free to drop in on the graphs thread
You have to be realistic though. There is just as much chance his value could go down, has a shocker at the Euro's, get bad injury, and there is now the added problem of him wanting out. Plenty of players who have had a big offer, decide to wait and then just fade into the background. Take it while the offer is there, try and screw Chavski now, they seem desperate, may have other options this time next year. Basically if Man U,City are not looking now, so if Chelsea fill the gap they obviously have and none of these are that interested next year , you ain't going to get anywhere near £30 million never mind 40, unless Brendan takes a liking to him that is
If you really think Stones is good there's no way his value is going to drop below £20m so what's a possible £10m loss compared to the consequences of playing a season with 1 CB?
