Sorry Joey but the bottom line is that you are not as good as you think you are. I lost count last season how many times he gave the ball away or the wasted free kicks and corners. I'm sure he was handsomely paid for being crap, no sympathy from me.
Oh and l thought it was a no dickhead policy. Guess he lost out both ways. The chicken is coming home to roost.
They actually want him, have to sell a couple of players in the next couple of days to have embargo lifted. I think because he is out of contract they can sign him after the deadline.
I personally think he did a good job for us and we could do a lot worse - and yes I am aware of the divide in opinion re Mr Barton ........
Ok so i switched on the Arse v Liverpool match here on Qatar Bein Sport expecting to be regaled by the collective wit & intelligence of Keys & Gray but hey its bonus night, our Joey making it the football Z list equivalent of University Challenge. Ill fitting suit, winklepickers and zero coherent analysis. I think he's found his level. Hope I don't bump into him in the Cigar Lounge Thursday night.
Cheers 'sb' ............... I guess I was just being facetious. Fact is, I've never really had an issue with Joey, the player. He played some good games for us last season and showed some backbone when others didn't. It's just Joey, the non player that gets me wound up at times. We probably all think likewise. Thanks for the update, I wasn't aware the club had a genuine desire to sign him. Guess I'm waiting for the revolt from the fans, although he could probably do them the world of good on the field.
Barton has had talks with Burnley according to beeb website.... Burnley manager Sean Dyche has confirmed the Championship side have held talks with midfielder Joey Barton. Premier League club West Ham were close to signing the 32-year-old after his release by Queens Park Rangers this summer. "Joey is someone I've spoken to for eight weeks," Dyche told BBC Radio Lancashire. "There are a lot of other suitors - the thing about Joey is what people sometimes forget because of other stuff is that he is a very good player." That could be an interesting pairing Barton and Dyche......pretty sure Barton would come a long way second in any argument....
Sky reports he has signed 1 yr deal at burnley. Interesting to see his reception at HQ. Didnt their fans throw things at him cple of yrs back??
He always put in a shift for us but an uneducated philistine. Better than many at the club in recent times.
