He's a very good championship level midfielder that has signed for a rival, but he won't get boo'd by me.

Came for the wrong reasons, and maybe shouldn't have been quite so honest about it, wouldn't cheer or boo him.

Just remember his French accent during the Marseille debacle. The great knob.

Not part of our finest hour as he only hung around for the money, think he did more harm than good in the long run, but he never offered himself that contract we did.

All that said his commitment on the pitch was usually where it should have been. So no hard feelings.

Good old Joey i whish him well. Always top-three player with us and truly worked hard on the pitch. I believe we are bit weak on that department now, however i hope he gets a good reception when he gets back to LR.

I liked the new past France player...he worked hard, put in a good shift, was a good captain on the field and gave a 110% to the cause. I do not think anyone would deny he was one of our top players last year...Having said all that, his dedication to drive everything demonstrated to me that he was quite a limited player, whose ability no longer matched his desire.

His free kick accuracy was poor, But he scored a couple of real screamers, but probably only about 1 in 5 were on target. His corner taking became atrocious. His tackling deteriorated as he tired...although much better in the second spell, where his reputation went before him, he seemed he was one step from a booking. And finally although he drove the team on his engine was going.

Bottom line...last year he gained my respect as a player who cared, but was not quite good enough....I suspect....he will deteriorate further this season...We closed the door on him at the right time, but I do wish him well (except against us)...but I am surprised he went to Dyche Burnley team.

I thought Burnley didn't pay top wages!

It will be interesting to see if they retain their supposed togetherness.

Whart reaction will he get from me? What he deserves. Absolute silence.

Best of luck to Joey, working with a very good manager in Sean Dyche and when he returns I'll applaud him.

Thought his work rate was second to none last season

I think again opposing fans have hated him in the past - now of course the northerners will love him ............. Until he gets sent off!!

I have always thought that he runs very well but what most are missing IMO ... He is always trying to catch up with the game
For a player who claims to dictate games it's a joke IMO
Said before I would have tried him at a full back ... He can't cross it however but just get him doing a job in a straight line , in a zone he would be a lot better player
His aggression is tip top but his disapline postionally in midfield is terrible
Too late now and hopefully he will leave big holes in Burnley

Or, he will blossom once away from Loftus Road as others have before him!!

I say good luck always rated him and certainly put in a shift which can't be said of a lot of the other high earners in the last 4 years - interesting what burnley fans think though given his previous comments about that town!

Looks like the purse strings have been loosened at Burnley, paying £9m for Grey from Brentford and now Barton......bit ironic that they ran on a strict fiscal policy when Hoos was CEO and now he has gone they are starting to spend. Now it is our turn to operate within fiscal prudence with Hoos as CEO.....

Interesting observation. Fiscal prudence sounds sensible compared to what we've had over the last four years but I hope not too prudent as that will get rather boring. No complaints thus far though.

Great effort, always put himself about - but less than great product (his dead ball skills and passing were deeply disappointing). Good engine, but getting older will mean that pressing/chasing part of his game is on the wane. Brings experience and commitment, but probably still expensive.

As always Joe is and will ever be a mass of contradictions. Happy he is someone else's problem.
