No they didn't. They said that under the rules of last year Benteke goal would have stood but under the new rules it should have been ruled out! will Bournemouth have a case for appealing ? Or will Pool man up and ask for a replay or ask for points to be shared ?
Don't know why, that's all they have said in SS. if game isn't a replayed then wtf is it all about? Liverpool have to do the right thing by Bournemouth - I remember when Arsenal won a FA Cup game by a dodgy goal and we volunteered to have it replayed, the FA got their knickers in a right twist about it but eventually gave in and agreed to a replay. perhaps Wenger has morals that some managers don't have !
You're right PNP, players are told to play to the whistle, as the referee had the whistle and his assistants didn't apparently know the new interpretation of the rule they're the ones at fault.
If 'Pool don't do the right thing, it will create one of the biggest stains in Prem history, one that will never be expunged. Already, I feel soiled by this entire episode.
Of course they won't suggest a replay, nor would it be allowed if they did. We'd have to replay most of our games against Chelsea and Man Utd if that were the case.
this is the first time that the PL and the refs association have stated that a goal was allowed incorrectly, so Liverpool should either replay the game or share the points. I am of course ignoring the fact that Bournemouth had a perfectly good goal disallowed and should by rights have all 3 points !!!!!!!
I actually found the game last Monday very difficult to watch. I have a soft spot for Bournemouth and their story in recent years has been a remarkable tale and everyone at the club seems down to earth and modest. They gave it their all last Monday and they deserved at least a point I thought. Despite the valiant effort they never had a chance, not because of the "resurgent" Liverpool but rather some all too familiar pool biased refereeing . Of course this latest injustice in the eyes of the scouse fans is totally justified as Raheem Sterling was wrongly adjudged as being offside against Man City, almost two years ago. From the Premier League statement regarding the issue of the tainted winning goal we can take a very clear message, that being "Yes this constant favourable refereeing attitude towards Liverpool is disgusting, but we are seeking to distance ourselves from this footballing abomination. Italy has had match fixing, Scotland it's sectarian issues and we clearly see this never ending bias towards Liverpool as England's own particular plight and we understand it must stop"
#meltdown x 2 Wow we got an offside goal. WIll you have this sweet 16 meltdown every time a team gets an offisde goal, or just Liverpool? eh? SandyVag08?
Stolen? The lino failed to call the offside, I fail to see how it's Liverpool's fault Nothing wrong with the 3 points at Stoke. You lot let man u beat ye with their flaccid cocks.
