I think it will be a pretty poor decision too Tom, and surprised if it's true.

He was one of our most influential players last season, along with Schneiderlin, Alderweireld, Clyne and Fonte. If only one of those remains after this window it wouldn't be good.
We still won't go down or anything like that, no meltdown from me, but we'd be looking at a bottom half finish. Especially with so many other teams strengthening.

If the bid is enormous then we should sell him. 25 million+ and it wouldn't be a disaster at all. He's a very good player, but we can cope well without him IMO. Long has shown great potential but can only start games on the wing, where he is hugely restricted. Who knows what Long is capable of giving a run of games in the Mane role. Rodriguez could also be a real handful there when he gets up to speed. If we sell Mane we will get a big fee and might actually get more out of the other players. I don't know that for sure, but it's certainly possible. The thing with Mane is, despite being so electric on the ball, his end product isn't actually that great. That being said, I'd prefer it if he didn't want to go and stayed.

I just think it's a shame that if he goes we won't get to see the electrifying player in action every week. Football is about that, remember?

Would definitely put a John Stones-style £40m on this. £25m is standard.

Im sure I will get slated for this, but after the Utd debacle with Zaha id be amazed if they spent £25m on a similar type of player.

We may be slightly prejudice about our players but he is not massively different (although he plays inside a lot more).

For that money I would be tempted and go get Praet or similar...

I'd get Praet AND similar if we sold Mane.

It's blatantly true, but is more than a sniff of agentsm and PR at work here. The bid was last week, and now hits the news this big - to disguise the fact that Man U got owned by Chelsea for one; and his agent is clearly going to take advantage of that situation.

In a world of other clubs having Payets, Monteros, and Shaquiris, we need to keep him.
