If he is worth this money why cant we spend like the others are.

I don't believe in this financial flair play BS. If that's true how can clubs Stoke, Southampton, Watford, Aston villa, West brom & Swansea spend & we cant. These clubs will have players on high wages like we do.

Like any fan i love my team and always will but its getting frustrating watching the likes of west brom spend 15M on forward and we are made to believe we have to sell in order to buy.

This is getting ridiculous now. What do you mean, you don't believe in it? FFP is happening, it's a reality that all clubs must adhere too.

I think FFP is a balance between spending against your income, may well be wrong there mind.
But if that is true, how do clubs of a similar standing splash the cash where as we don't seem to be either able to or willing to.
Maybe they are pushing the boundaries of FFP but we are staying well within the confines if that makes sense.

It's been pointed out that we are still paying big money for the **** ups we've made in the past few seasons...
Exactly mate, somebody in that club is going wrong or went wrong big time. If it's Ellis the club is ****ed and he's not such the great businessman after all, finding it hard to blame Quinn now as he's been a gone a little while and these must be players that were sold recently who are still receiving the big bucks.

Any chance of you taking me to a game next time I'm in Holland? In with the Feyenoord lads aren't you?

Because a lot of our spending is still going on players who aren't here apparently. That must come off the budget and by the size of it, it's a canny chunk too.

Transfer window has another 3 weeks to go as well <ok>

What players can they mean.

Who have we sold in the last couple of years that we have to still pay them.

Who have we got rid of that we still pay them.

Any ideas?

fair do's, would love to know how much we are still spending out on past players though.
the club must be in a right **** state if that is the case.
I have to say though but if I had that kind of money I would donate the odd 100 million as a gift to the club, but then again I have a soft spot for SAFC :emoticon-0152-heart

No idea.

Scocco - N'Diaye - Gardner

There's 3 players who I think were on decent wages and went to clubs who probably couldn't pay them what we could. Maybe we are subsidising their wages. I have absolutely no idea though on what has gone wrong. By the sounds of it, MON is hugely responsible for a lot of it and if Ellis doesn't get a grip on it now we could be the next Leeds, Rangers, Portsmouth etc.

I reckon in Dick and Congerton we've got the right men to keep us stable while we sell/release the deadwood and bring in the players we need.

We definitely have the right men, the more I hear and see how Congerton works the more impressed with him that I am. Reservations about Dick and his eagerness to spend big, he gets the blame for what happened at Rangers because of his spending in his time there. (although it's the chairman every time that releases the funds)

How you doing anyways, are you getting much progress made in your quest to emigrate?

Doubt if Short grow up supporting any football team , and see's it more of a way to make more money, and not spend loads of money to get Sunderland to a European place.

What i mean is how can we be close our limit but clubs like the ones i mentioned are not.

He has spent loads of money on players like Bent, Johnson, Rodwell, Gyan, Lens, A Ferdinand ( <doh> ), Gordon

Because of our previous transfer dealings. Paying high wages and still paying players now who have left the club.

We are in this position through terrible management of our finances.

So what....he must be one of the poorest owners of a prem team..

he's a yank, any any **** who thinks he gives a flying **** about SAFC is fooling themselves......its a gamble on a football club...like an ABBA song.

Some of those teams you mention have made big money recently on player sales, Villa, Swansea, Southampton, even WBA have a big saleable asset in Berahino.
