Sure, and that's when you get a bargain. Like Quinn a few years back.

However it's clearly not the case in this situation, or our first bid would have been accepted.

I'm still hopeful on the Maloney front too - A lot of clubs will sit in against us this season and I'm not sure we've got the guile to unlock a well drilled defence - Maloney would make a big difference on this score...as (potentially!) would Gray

The main problem is City's tactics. Why do they always seem to only have one "option"? I don't consider Hooper as a serious option. We should identify three targets for each position we need to strengthen and that would mean the selling club understand the risks of not making a deal.

Diame/Snoddy should help when they're fit. I feel like a lot of people are forgetting them. Snoddy at least will certainly be here.

I can't see how we've got any chance with Maloney, their window is closed, so they can't replace him.

The problem last night is that we didn't play at a quick enough tempo. We had a lot of possession in front of Accrington Stanley. A different option would be to get the ball forward quicker - which would be more effective with a Gray type player - having pace out wide (Moses, Elmo & Robertson helps too) - an incisive passer like Maloney would complete the picture.

Garden furniture? Who gives a **** about garden furniture?

Sheds are all that matter in this life. Sheds are everything.

If you thought you were overpaying on the furniture by £400 in the first place, then you might.

Diame is a good example - he will go past a player and drive at their defence and draws them out - I've not seen enough of Snodgrass to see where his strengths lie - and if he comes back the same player

Think if we are messing about with Gray we should just drop it and try jump in for Gayle before bristol city complete the deal,i am pretty sure he would do a good job for us.

Gayle is a much better option than Hooper for what we need.

Then we should try and get him in,i think he is an all round better option and it would seem a little cheaper to.

He doesn't want to drop to the C'ship, though the prospect of joining one of the promotion favourites and getting regular game time might sway him.

His scoring record is the same if not better than Grays, at the same age.

I think he would accept a deal with us if we was to offer him one.

My point is that £50 is neither here nor there.

Then I wouldn't have spent the £1,000 in the first place if £50 was so important to me.

If we can get Gray in brilliant. If we can't get Maloney go for Henri Lansbury or Leon Britton.
