20.00 ......... puts me in a dilemma. I'm at the Bournemouth Air Show all day ...... Can I get back to Soton in time for k.o. - maybe on the train? Hmmm ..... <confused>

Of course you can. Will your body clock be over the hill by then though.? Out all day. :)

Whenever I go sailing it's often quite vigorous, but even when it has been a relaxing all day sail I come home absolutely knackered. Fresh air can be very tiring. !

Yeah, but my car will still be in Bournemouth :emoticon-0101-sadsm

As for being out all day and knackered, that's a very good point. The annoying thing is that I was going in the hope of seeing the Vulcan fly and, of course, she's only going on Saturday now :emoticon-0121-angry .............. Can't do the weekend as I'm off for a fun-filled family camping thing in Dorset ........ Maybe I'll see her at a distance .....

Will look at train times now ................ Cheers! :emoticon-0100-smile

One Saturday last summer, I was with my Southampton Ramblers group walking through a hilltop glade west of Winchester [I think it was west of Winchester anyway], when lo and behold I hear the familiar noise of the Bristol Olympus engines. In a Vulcan they are unmistakeable. I got everyone to look in the right direction and XX558 passed overhead, quite low as well. We got a great show and it left us in conversations about Vulcans, Victors, Valiants, British jet aircraft in general and inevitably all the techies and aeroplane enthusiasts got angry yet again over the cancellation of the TSR.2.! [one of the group actually worked on parts for the plane].

On we walked and about an hour later the same noise drifted over the wind and back she came, only lower, and I mean really quite low. We were out in the clear now and just to cap the day, XX558 changed direction as she came over us and gave us an almighty howl. I mentioned this moment last year, but good things are often worth repeating.! :)

Saw her last year at Farnborough and am hoping to catch her somewhere this year before it's too late. Don't start me on TSR2 - my dad was in the aviation industry and it was one of his rants ........ :emoticon-0105-wink: One I have now taken up!
Once, British aviation was the envy of the world, then (like the motorcycle and car industry) we let it slip and sold all our best ideas ......... Sad really. The thought of never hearing the Vulcan "howl" again is a sad one ........... :emoticon-0106-cryin

I see that if you qualify to buy tickets and do purchase a ticket, then you will get priority for all future euro games, how many tickets will be bought to how many fans actually go to the game will be interesting to see.

I don't like evening matches anymore, so haven't bought a Euro ticket, but the chance of priority for future games does concern me. Wouldn't want to miss out on the final. <laugh>

I can see 50% of the tickets being sold to fans who won't actually attend the game though. I reckon they should have increased the ticket price to around £40 to maybe put people off doing this and hence making tickets more available to those who don't qualify for round 1 of sales.

with the posibility of being away somewhere in europe once every month, i'm not sure how many fans could afford to or get the time off work to attend every game, but i'm pretty sure every fan who can purchase a ticket will do to keep the right to purchase those tickets valid

Woo! I bought a membership for the other half (to occasionally share with my brother who lives in London) so we can make sure we get seats next to each other. My brother used her ticket for the Vitesse game, but she's coming Midtjylland one with me*. It'll be the first time we're priority for anything football related!

Then again, I'm deliberately boosting her purchase history by offering tickets get early tickets for my brother when she doesn't want to come, but as he's currently in the US (on some phd summer school thing) she's coming to more games than she otherwise would have done. But we're still actually going - I'm certainly not wasting money on a ticket, in order to not turn up!

I'd say I can't believe people do that, but the seat that was supposed to be occupied between me & my brother at the Vitesse game stayed empty the whole match. I don't understand that mentality, if you're not going to go, then why not give the ticket to a mate\family member who wants to go? I understand it's technically against the T&Cs, but the club doesn't ID people as they go in & I'm pretty sure that as long as they get my money, they don't care which family member comes with me.

*Her first ever match was the Espanyol friendly (she's only been in the UK two years), I've also booked us both tickets to Norwich too - I'm going to Everton alone though.
