Maureen is a cad aye.......He says it was never a red card and wants it turned over.........He is having a laugh and should he get his wish then that is proof the powers at the top are favoring the top clubs......It was a blatant red so deal with it Maureen.....everyone else has too....

He's either deflecting attention away from himself and the problems he's caused at Chelsea. No summer signings, poor pre-season and results, team looks half cooked, all of these 'issues' can be laid at his door.

    Or

He's paddling his hubris up de nile again and is incapable of accepting the fact that he's made mistakes recently in not signing any new players (so far) not getting the best out of his squad in the summer, not getting his team ready to perform on time and now, woefully under estimating us.

Either way, its obvious that the special one's fekking up right now, long may it continue

Dermot Gallagher on Sky today said the whole incident was a great team decision by the match officials. So F off Maureen.

Doubt the appeal will be given, and I'm surprised Chelski are trying it on, poor show in my view given it was a nailed on penalty and red.........<ok>

tight decision, but definitely a pen, not so sure about it being a nailed on red though, it was a very heavy touch past Courtois from Gomis. I'm sure most of you would feel a bit agrieved if it was the other way around. That said, I don't think it should be over-turned, it's a matter of opinion as to whether it was a goal scoring opportunity or not and it's not outside the realms of reality that he might've scored it, would have been GotM if he had.

But it was a dangerous and high tackle..... so a sending off offence anywhere on the pitch......

if he'd pushed it past Courtois goalwards, yes, but he didn't, he pushed it out wide. Personally I don't think Gomis would've put it away if he'd gone for a first time effort, he's not that type of striker, but, as I said, it's an opinion and it isn't a great improbability he would've scored from it.
oh behave, is Gomis a smurf? It wasn't even a foot of the ground

Like I said buddy, he's simply and sneakily deflecting attention away from his own inadequacies. He's managed his club badly all summer, highlighted by their poor performances.

No signings at all, no wins in 5 pre-season games, players not being trained effectively and now his latest arrogant blunder was to show a decent team little respect. It cost him and could have cost him more of course.

Not once did he mention our name in post match interviews, all he did do was blindly grope for his stock excuses, 'it was all the refs fault'. Poor pompous Jose has been sussed, special in victory but completely blind in defeat.

We cuffed him in the moolies on Saturday  and it hurt like hell

Optimum words here Big Ern are "I don't think Gomis would've put it away"

In saying that Big Ern you agree then that Gomis would have had an opportunity to score a goal had he not been 'taken out' by Courtois.

The point is, if Courtois hadn't took Gomis out of the game, then Gomis would have had a shot on a goal defended only by a centre back rushing back towards goal. Doesn't matter if center back would have saved the shot or not, that fact remains that with Courtois out of the game Gomis would have had a shot on a keeperless goal from within the penalty area. Personally, I think Gomis would have scored, the way he calmly took the penalty after Terry doing all he could to disrupt him and with the length of time he had to think about it, I suggest Gomis would have scored if he had been allowed the opportunity.

It is irrelevant who thinks what as the only thing that is relevant is that a goal scoring opportunity was prevented by foul play.

By definition it was a Penalty, by interpretation it was a Red Card. Jose's appeal is puerile and unjustified as his disguised attack on the referee after the game.

The problem with Jose is that he thinks he's the new Alex, the only similarity is that they are utterly arrogant.

sadly, human nature being what it is, it does affect the refs decisions, as shown by Keane and Ferguson with their constant hounding of the refs.
As to challenging the red, I can't really blame him, if I were the manager and I thought I had a chance of having my 1st choice GK back, I would too, as would every manager in the league, including Monk. There is no punishment for appealing, it costs about £15k, which is nothing. The appeal might be seen as frivolous, but as I pointed out, the ball had been pushed wide, quite heavily, which will be their argument. I think they have a better argument for over-turning it than we did when we appealed Carroll's red against Flores, they actually have an argument, where-as Carroll definitely tried a sneaky elbow.

Heavy touch? The ball didn't even go out for a goal kick!?!? would he have scored? We would never know but for me it's a goal scoring opportunity.

Correct. It was a stone wall penalty and red card. Chelski should take their medicine like everyone else.
