****! Please, someone, wake me up from this nightmare! No, that isn't what I'm saying. We've had this conversation before, PISKIE. Do you remember? The one about you not having a sense of humour and, therefore, not understanding the concept of "banter?" Obviously (but, let me spell it out, because I am clearly dealing with a half-wit) I accept that I made some comment about Spurs going 2 points better against you than we did last season, but I cannot remember exactly what I said. You see, PISKIE, I do that sort of thing: I'll engage in a gentle bit of ribbing, have a laugh, and then move on with my life, not get stuck in an OCD-fuelled rut.
Wow you are doing a very good job of sounding calm. Is this another way of you telling me that you now don't think that Spurs will take 6 points off of Arsenal ? Or are you sticking to that assertion ?
Okay, look. Since it is quite obvious that you don't really "do" banter, let's agree to settle for this... I really would like Spurs to take 6 points off Arsenal (not just the 4 that we took off them so spectaularly, last season), but I recognise that football in the Prem is extremely unpredictable, so I have to accept the possibility that, in fact, we may give away 6 points to Arsenal. There! Does that satisfy your OCD-drvien need for exactness?
****! ****! ****! No, it doesn't mean that, PISKIE, on account of the fact that I didn't "predict" anything. We had this part of the conversation a little while back, mate. It means what I've always wanted it to mean: in my opinion - and I put this out there for discussion, whilst winding up the Gooners - Spurs can take 6 points off Arsenal, next season. Do you, now, see how this works?
I hope you're still keeping calm And for the record, you didn't put anything 'out there for discussion'. You said 'I fully expect Spurs to take 6 points off of Arsenal this time' If you wanted a discussion you would have said 'Does anybody think Spurs will take 6 points off of Arsenal this time ?' What you are describing is you making an outlandish prediction and then desperately trying to wriggle out of it. #keepcalmHIAG
But I didn't want a discussion, I was engaging in banter. The last three posts I've made on here have been part of that banter (a branch of wit known as "irony"). Do you see, now, how it works?
Making a spurious claim and then trying to wriggle out of it is neither wit not banter I'm afraid mate It's just you making a spurious claim and then trying to wriggle out of it Do you see, now, how it works ?
It gets better ! You can't even remember what you've claimed in the space of one comment. HIAG is like a **** Houdini. Voluntarily tying himself up in knots, only he's not able to wriggle out of the trap he's set himself.
If you were smart, you'd realise that the only person you're up against is yourself. Think about that
You're just getting upset because I've touched a raw nerve. Think about it HIAG, if you didn't tie yourself up in knots making bullshit claims then you wouldn't need to spend any time trying to wriggle out of them. The only person you're up against is yourself
How ****ing stupid does someone have to be to get this worked up about a claim that Palace are going to overtake Arsenal? ****'s sake.
I think it's clear to see who's getting worked up here As for stupidity, we're not even talking about Palace, we're talking about HIAG's claim that Spurs will take 6 points off of Arsenal
