I don't understand that either, in any game.

 

That was a very satisfactory day. Where are all these people who thought England would get thrashed? I always considered it possible that the Aussies would retain the Ashes, but some England fans seemed to think we might as well not play.

 

And they actually came up short if it was a T20...having lasted only 18.3 overs.

 

Just seen that catch that Stokes. Bloody hell what a catch! Broad's face.

 

Joe Root is the first batsman in the history of Ashes cricket to score a century on Day 1 for the side batting second.

 

He's also only the third player to score double the amount of runs on his own of the entire opposition's total.

 

And extras was the highest scorer for the Aussies....call it our bit of charity work.

 

My Aussie boss also claimed that Extras deserved to top score as "he" showed more grit than any other Aussie
