I was hoping to go to LV for a conference November or March.
Going to NY instead in Oct.
Last time I was in Germany ended up giving a statement to the Police as a witness in a murder, so excuse me if I do not want to go back. It was Stuttgart rather than Berlin, but I would still be a bit nervous

Ugh. Sounds like a not-so-fun end to the evening. Fortunately I've never witnessed anything nearly so bad in my life.

She's flying to Stuttgart before getting the train ti Berlin yikes

I am sure she will be ok. The group of Turks involved will now be in their mid sixties and have probably calmed down and stopped murdering people. They have probably gone into people trafficking now as its a lot less stressful. by the way have you ever watched Taken with Liam Neeson!

I found Germany a great place, admittedly in the early 80's they seemed to be still in the 60's. Lots of Hippies at the university, bloody students never change do they!
They used to have a fantastic open air disco/club event in one of the large squares in Stuttgart which we went to a couple of times and the beer was great, not the crappy Carlsberg/Heineken/Skol lager we get over here
Updated itinery suggestion: Monday. Fly to Stuttgart. Two nights there. Train to Copenhagen. Several nights there. Train to Berlin. 5 nights there. Train to Zagreb. Going to come national park and lake there. Train to Budapest. Couple of nights. Then to Slovenia, then finishing up in Barcelona. Several nights and fly home from there. Total 9th August to 1st September.
I don't know about you, but I think it sounds like a great idea for a trip! Anyone interested in this great opportunity to get to know each other better?
