Ha yeah but I still want this done mate, season starts Saturday and we aren't fully ready......just for gods sake not another bad start!!!
Can't imagine YMV will be ready for a good few weeks regardless mate. Fer on the other hand should be able to more or less come straight in.
I don't imagine M'vila's had a single minute's pre-season mate, I think he ****ed his knee at Inter and basically stopped training. He'll be so far off the pace he'll look like Dot Cotton competing in the Decathlon. Fer could slot straight in once he knows the drill.
Then we probably wont see him regularly playing anywhere near his best until xmas. Waste of a loan if that's the case.
I said that the other day mate, Christmas time I reckon before he's in the side permanently and that's if he puts the graft in. I don't think it's a waste of a loan though, if he turns out good, it could be the best move your club have made in years. Lots of ifs and buts.
M'Vila has had a preseason mate with Dynamo Moscow before they sent him back, but his fitness has been off for a couple of season's, Saturday will be too early, but should be ready in a few weeks. We may not see the best for a few months though. Friendly vs Ajax in July. please log in to view this image
Sunderland are close to finalising a deal for Yann M’Vila after the French international arrived in the North East to put the finishing touches to his loan switch. The Black Cats have had to be patient in their move for M’Vila over recent days after paperwork problems have delayed his move from Russian club Ruben Kazan. But the midfielder is now on Wearside to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical, ahead of a season-long loan deal. M’Vila is one of two midfielders that Sunderland are on the verge of signing, with Leroy Fer’s move from QPR expected to be confirmed today. Fer underwent a medical and held discussions with Sunderland yesterday over a season-long loan switch from relegated QPR. And as the Echo reported today, Sunderland are also hoping for a potential third loan deal after holding talks with Manchester United over winger Adnan Januzaj.
I remember a few seasons ago when we were linked with people I'd never heard of and had no interest in! And now we are linked with Leroy Fer, Yann M'Vila (admittedly I know nothing of him but have read an awful lot stating how good a player he can be) and Adnan Januzaj - one of the most exciting prospects the country has seen for a few years! Dick Advocaat and Lee Congerton, should even 2 of the three deals go through - should be firmly patted on the back by every SAFC fan! I'm getting itchy for it now (no it's not the new tattoo!) Just excited for the season! Everyone is writing us off as relegated "because of the last few seasons" - fine - let them write us off - I will make my decision after I've seen how the team fit together and how everything works! Player wise I think Congo etc have done a fine job!
If we get all 3 of these in it really is a fantastic looking squad. Hard to believe it's ours, frankly. Still a worry up top but there will be no excuses service wise with the ability in that midfield.
It's idiotic. Nobody seems to be taking business into consideration. WBA are staying because of Pulis in most peoples eyes, completely missing the fact that everybody around them has strengthened much better. Newcastle are pushing for top half because of Wij, completely forgetting(or not even realising) they have zero width and a defence like a sieve, neither of which they've addressed yet. I just think most people are simply one dimensional when they assess football.
We have 2 quality keepers, actual full backs, cover at centre half, should the 2 midfielders sign this week, depth in midfield, a load of wingers, pace, forwards with the potential to score regularly given the service (maybe Graham excepted), experienced manager. Best squad in years. (Tapping forehead with closed fist)
It's so off the mark. Presumably our odds to stay up or over perform will be good value? Paddy Power certainly have us bottom 3. Do these handicap league table ante post bets still exist? Who else is being more underrated?! Today (or before we sign any/all of these 3) might be the best time to get it on.
I didn't want to start a new thread so I'm just gunna stick my question in here. A bit random mind. Does anybody know if Town End Farm is a nice area in Sunderland?
Used to live there when I was young then moved to Castletown not too far away. It's not the worst place to live but it's far from the best too.
