We have very little idea what goes on behind the scenes. Just because we can't see a good reason for it doesn't mean there isn't one.
could be lol Might be just what we see there..he just doesn't stop mucking about in training and BR is unimpressed with a guy who didn't perform to the embarrassment of the selection committee who continues to see it all as a big lark..add laid back Enrique and Borini and you've three guys that might actually being annoying the rest of the squad who are putting the sweat in. It might just be complaints from other senior players as much as management.
Suarez was made to train alone for 'disrespecting the club' - I think it was after he gave an interview in his homeland about promises being broken or something which Rodgers took exception to. Yet Sterling gets to train and is selected for the tour after he disrespected the club in a much bigger way. Where's the consistency? He's making it up as he goes along, is Borini lazy too or has he disrespected the club? It's all nonsense and after the three envelopes stunt, I wonder if it's the ego talking.
We don't know what goes on behind the scenes, or indeed who makes the decisions - was Rodgers told by FSG to seperate Suarez? Or maybe now it was SOD or Gary Mac who said to seperate the players? And how long did Sterling train for in the end - was it one day before we went on tour? As for Borini, who knows? But he spent large parts of last season outside the squad, even when we had no decent strikers, suggesting that something might be up. In any case, I think Borini's pretty annoyed at how he was treated last season, so maybe he's given up trying? All of which is a bit odd given that Rodgers had worked with him before and kept in personal contact. But it's all speculation.
Maybe it is sentiment on my part, I will admit to being a softie, but I do see it more as a psychology issue. The club has the welfare of all it's players to consider and if these three have been disruptive [I'm not sure why Enrique suddenly gets lumped in after several years of being here with no problems like this] it highlights Rodgers inability to control the players if he needs to dish out punishments like this. It smacks of teacher being incapable or unwilling to integrate the naughty boy in class, so isolate him, adding further to the problem instead of finding a solution that works the best for everybody.
But is this not man management rather than inconsistency JB? BR knew that Suarez would react a certain way but thought with Sterling an arm round the shoulder approach to a young player might be needed. Obviously that was a mistake re sterling because he spat it back in the managers face. Maybe it's the complete opposite to my previous suggestion. Maybe BR thinks because he doesn't have a senior player like Gerrard or Carragher who would take a player to the side and give them a bollocking he doesn't want to put a young Captain under that pressure so soon, especially if it's a player like Balotelli whose been known to not give a Feck and partial to a training ground bust up in the past.
Possible. Although I think it's good to see players training with smiles on their faces. On a different note, when I look at Bentekkers, I just think he looks like someone with no personality. Anyone else or is that just me? That's something I can't say about Mario!

Funny you put that to me when I'm the one who's saying we don't know the reason yet others have actually put their suspected reasons like it's because he's disruptive... bad influence .. Do you think isolation is a good tactic? How does it address the problem or reasons for which they're being set apart to start with?
Hopefully there are other things going on to get them into a position to be reintegrated. Isolation alone may not address the problems, but why keep them in the group while you're still working on the problems if you feel that it's detrimental to the group as a whole? On the other hand, given that we want to sell all three, what's the point from the club's perspective?
Isolating players isn't managing them, it's washing your hands of them. And if he's seriously looking to offload them what does it tell prospective employers? We don't know what goes on do we, as Nozzer said it's all speculation but I have a real problem with anybody who thinks isolating members of a group [unless, depending on what the group is, it's for reasons of safety to themselves and others] is good in any way, shape or form. There's no way I'd ever have stood for my kids being made to stand in the corner or whatever, for example and I actually took myself off to my young nephew's nursery a few years ago to ask why when two children had had a fight only one was put in a room on his own. It's unacceptable. Getting back to LFC - Apart from anything else, whatever the inside wrangles are, you need to show the outside world a united front, otherwise you look very weak and leave yourself open to all kinds of criticism which in turn brings more negative focus to the club.
Not really funny at all. When something like this happens then it's is perfectly logical to assume that something has precipitated it. It is wholly illogical to think that he is going to be asked to train separately on a mere whim. Since you ask, I'm presuming that the isolation is intended to protect the rest of the squad from a disruptive influence rather than an attempt to bring Mario to heel. The club's primary concern must be to maintain as high a level of harmony as is possible within the squad.
Let's say these three are being disruptive to the group, it just doesn't give me any confidence in the set-up if they can't handle that situation without having to resort to taking them out. It's extremely weak imo. On a side note I want players who leave to talk the club up like Alonso, Mascherano and Babbel have. Rodgers list of disgruntled players leaving is getting longer and longer.
Balo hasn't really shown any indiscipline unless you count the accusations of laziness and not really trying so to isolate him seems harsh One link said it's him Enrique and Borini out on their own So... All I can think is that these particular players and agents are digging their heels in over a move... Borini has history of this... so it's to show them that this really is the end, there's no chance you'll be playing or anywhere near the squad. It also shows prospective buyers that they are surplus to requirements when they could be getting contradicting messages from any of the players' people / agents Lambert has accepted it's over and the noises are the move is imminent so we keep him in normal training... these idiots are like the dumped who just keep on believing it aint over, there's a chance we can make it work
I don't think anyone's suggested it's on a whim. There will be a reason and we may find out on Balotelli's twitter in the coming weeks
Perhaps I should have just said "without a valid reason". The thing is, there's no point in us drawing conclusions based on very few facts and a whole load of speculation. I doubt Mario's twitterings will offer a full and balanced assessment of the situation, tbh.
