Aren't parachute payments supposed to cover that to an extent? Either way, we've reduced our wage bill since being relegated by releasing and selling players. I think it's pretty obvious the Allam's aren't going to splash the cash because they've have their ridiculous name change rejected for a second time but replacing our players with inferior ones on the cheap won't get us back to the Premier League.
I still don't understand why we released Rosenior only to replace him with an injury-plagued liability like Taylor.
Yeah, some of it, but we only get that in monthly increments, we don't get it in a lump sum. Forget the parachhute payments, they have nothing to do with front of house stuff like playing staff, it mostly goes into stablising the accounts.
We've reduced the wage bill a bit, but we still have big earners like Thudd, Livermore, Dawson, Davies, Jelavic, Hernandez and N'Doye on the books. We need to balance this out by selling. I don't know what you're expecting in terms of player quality; Ryan Taylor is, at least in terms of ability, better than Rosenior and we haven't seen anything of Clucas yet. Last time we went down it took 3 years and a hell of a lot of rebuilding to get back, you might have to be a little patient.
We we released Rosenior because he wanted a three year deal and we didn't want to give him one. Brighton did, that's why he went there.
