It was truly disgusting. A surrender. To the Aussies ffs, who will now just smell blood, realise half the side are cowards, and kill us off.

There should be three or four dropped but we just can't afford to really. Lyth isn't an international cricketer and should disappear back to Yorkshire and Bell is just finished. Thanks, but goodbye Ian, it's been nice (sometimes).

I'd get shut of Balance too but it would just be mad to completely tear up the side.

I'd have to say Root up to three, Ballance at four and Bairstow at five. **** knows who opens with Cook though.

It was very very very poor. they were playing shots no sane player would play in the scenario.

lyth has to go. he cannot do what he is doing. he's failed every time.

who plays no 2. you want 50 runs on the board from the opening pair not 5. (and ideally 100) if root goes 3 ok but he did ok from 5. he's not as good on the new ball and you want him coming in and tonking this lot not struggling.

    Bell has to go.

Bairstow has to come in i think too. no reason not to.

What is as irritating as anything is how they've managed to big Johnson up into some ogre again. He just isn't that good, he's quick but he's not a skilled bowler by any means.
Any technically adept batsman avoids his quick balls and smacks the inevitable gash straight to the boundary. Ours just waft away, duck, cower and get out.

We had them on the ropes; Haddin dropped himself, Clarke was out of from, Johnson was out of form, Starc was injured and Harris retired. It was +++++++ all the way for us.

    What a massive **** up.

    iffy.

i don't think england have done enough on the batting end.

I think the ground suits england bowling better.... needs anderson to up his game big style.

lyth and bell to let england down bascially.

its poor technique from us for sure. most of his wickets in game 2 game from guys playing stupidly. wafting is a good way of describing it.

the england bowlers in short could not take wickets and the endgland batting folded under the first sign of pressure. we coudl have drawn the last one with a bit of bottle.

Balance out, Bairstow in means shuffle in the order.

    Bell to 3, Root 4 Bairstow 5?

At least that means root will be coming in at 30-2 rather than 30-3 <ok>

wood of is now a doubt as well so if he doesn't play not sure who's take his place? Be bold and go Rashid? Or Finn?

Depends on the wicket, if its got a bit in it for the spinner then Rashid, he's also a better bat..
But if its gonna seam and swing and got a bit of life in it, the Finn..
I'd also put Ali up to 7, far too good a bat to be down at number 8!

His form was patchy towards the end and he's not played enough county cricket to warrant a place back yet, but I'd still back him to do a better job than bell. The Aussies would fear him more than anyone because of his ability to score quickly and be aggressive.

Saying that, won't happen. Too much has gone on

    Not surprising.
Good to see him back, think he can be very dangerous when on form but does tend to go for a few runs. Think probelam is him and broad are both quite expensive when not firing 100%

can carry one of them if others are economical because he'll get you wickets but of both are being expensive game can runaway from you
