Anyway, Friday night time for a wine. No2 bought me a home shirt (in advance payment for taking him to at least four away matches) . Saved a whole £2 per shirt by being members. Off to the friendly tomorrow (not out of choice particularly) and notice only half the ground will be open, no programme and not much to encourage anyone to turn up. Notwithstanding my comments on other threads about the finances of the club (or at least JB) I cant help but notice that every pound is being wrung out of the supporters . Not necessarily a bad thing-clearly the days of of few years ago when each player could get 50 comps per match, and signed footballs were free are long gone-almost like it is being run like a proper business now......
A first off for me yesterday........although for a friend of mine of 45yrs a more sobering moment. Mrs Plym and I went to this friends funeral of his wife....they had been married for nearly 26 yrs and she eventually died of cancer. 30 yrs before this Mrs Plym and myself went to the funeral of his first wife....she died in her mid forties of cancer as well....both where very happy marriages even with ill health dominating the latter years of both. We take good health for granted at times....I know I do at times not really being ill ever other than a broken leg playing football. I just like to raise a glass to David my friend....his first wife Ann and his second wife Cathy they loved each other even through the pain and hard times.....cheers David humbling to know you.
A sad story Plym-even at my relatively young age I seem to be going to far too many funerals recently. Live for today, Cheers!
Sadly as time goes on it becomes part of your social life it seems. That's the biggest bug bear of getting older. Since retiring I've done double figures in relatives and ex colleagues. We agree on something lyndhurst, live for today.
There was a good bear documentary on the Telly the other night...BC.....shot by a Canadian film-maker.....about "ghost" bears.....they where born white....but could still produce normal brown off-spring....interesting.
Yea i have heard about them never seen one only black ones.. The forest fires are pushing the wild life down the mountains..today's rain should help though. Hottest driest summer on record so far.. Walking through the forest trails I wear my bear bell which dings all the time so they know i'm around I also have to look out for Cougar they can sneak up behind you.. Trout fishing has been poor due to the heat, and now i see they have closed the trails as they don't want the public there afraid of people smoking and dropping their *** ends.. All campfires are banned..
Christ I'm surprised you even go outside at all BC. Sounds like walking through Swilly on a dark Friday night. Far too scarey. Not surprised you can't see the white bears as well. It's all that snow that does it. There could be one living outside your bedroom window right now.
Quiet on our site tonight anyone in here mines a treble rum and coke. Missing football big time cricket golf and bloody tennis ain't no substitute
They don't even come under the classification of a sport do they Rocky. Although I used to play a bit of cricket in my more elderly sporting years. That would be last week then. You are welcome to a drink and I'll even get one for you. You aren't allowed to handle the nuts though, that's my job. I think everyone is getting a bit bored waiting now. We've done the who is leaving bit. We've done the who is arriving bit. We've done the early fixtures. We've done the who we would have liked to have seen arriving. It's all about waiting for proper kick off now.
The season is nearly here I can't wait. Good luck lads let's hope we both have a great season. Looking forward to some good banter
You might need a Clairvoyant some days to raise anything on here Rocky. Like last season and the season before we have to wait for game 2 to get a home leg. I don't do away games and we only have lyndhurstgreen (who is secretly James Bond in disguise) to do our reporting there. I have to say this has seemed a very long closed season even though we got it lessened by 2 games at the end of last. I kept an eye on Wycombe last term and thought you chaps were a tad unlucky in the end. I wish you all the best this season and hope the last one wasn't a one off for you. At least we all start with hopes held high once more and pray it doesn't disappoint. Cheers for your good wishes.
Smoke in the air up here today..Forest Ranger advised me to move out...so now at home in the valley..time catch up on the Argyle news.. looks promising so far....new Manager new Players... Thanks for keeping me informed..
Not too much news this week for you BC......been waiting for one or two more loanees. Is Derek Adams biding his time....or is he finding it difficult to get his targets......or are Premier/Championship teams still finalizing there league line-ups before allowing young talent to go on loan.
Ok tentacles I'll fall for it. Nothing on the profile page so who are you then, who do you support and why such a sketchy first post. Oh and hello to you too.
