Flanman, did we make a profit on McCarthy? How much did we pay Reading for him?

Also, Rambo said last night that we got £8m out of the Sterling deal. I thought 20% of £49m is £9.8m?

If I remember correctly we get 20% of 44mil = 8.8m plus 20% of the 5mil which are add ons = 1mil, over a period of time as they are performance/appearance related.

What are we doing with the Sterling (& McCarthy) money? Is it paying off huge debts or being re-invested in players?

So in other words we get 20% of £49m which is £9.8m!

I guess we get our cut as and when Liverpool get theirs. If the first instalment is £44m up front then we'll get 20% straight away. If they're getting it over the duration of his contract, we'll get our slice of the pie in crumbs.

Lee Camp is 30 and a Bournemouth reserve. Could do a lot worse.

I'm not sure that we could!

Peaked when he was on loan to us (both times) but wasn't very good when we purchased him. I would much rather give Lumley a chance (won't happen) than that.

Cerny was far safer in our goal then Mr. Camp was!

It's all irrelevant though IMO. Green will be in goal for us this season. It look's to me that all Ramsey said was that if he was a manager of a diferent club, he would have made a bid for him.

Bloody hell, have you read about Rob Green? We could be without a keeper:emoticon-0107-sweat

<laugh> Sorry Tramore, it's a quiet news day, ive not taken my pills yet and could not resist!

£50,000/week would likely be a tough price for anyone to lure him away though, so likely he will see out his contract with us.

Even without this news, McCarthy still had the contract release buyout clause set at £3.5, whether he actually plays, or sit on the bench with Palace, given Speroni is still the #1 keeper, so he's actually in the same boat as with us last season. Not sure if he had been told he would be our #1 keeper in the Championship, if he could have resisted the buyout clause?
