profit doesn't equal free cash. and as for cash, I think we're already pretty toppy this summer with net outgoings. Can't see any more signings, not unless a stupid bid comes in for mario.
I think Origi is still raw and he needs game time to develop. Wasn't Mario given compassionate leave because his father died, hence why he's not on the tour?
No mate he played in 20 for Villa - Lallana's number - be interesting to see what number he does take. Waiting to see who leaves to see what numbers are freed up
He's already scored two thirds as many goals as The Hesk in a third as many games. Plus he looks evil.
I'd keep Origi because of Sturridge's injuries. Imagine playing Balotelli and Benteke together if we ever need to. Origi can play central or wide and offers both strength and pace.
Origi will get plenty of game time. We arein EL and he will be a good bench option with his versatility. I think as a young player he may need time to settle into England. A loan would just disrupt that. He's also been a first team regular to Lille for 2 years.
Can any one think of any decent way of fitting all of Sturridge, Benteke, Coutinho and Firmino into our team with out making our defense even weaker? Mignolet Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno Henderson Milner Firmino ---- Coutinho Sturridge Benteke Nice idea with a lot of freedom in attack butextra defensive responsibilities would dent Henderson and Milners impract.
I would swap Milner for Can or DM. The box midfield is the best way to achieve this but it cannot succeed with Henderson and Milner. The reason being is neither is good defensively - yes, they are good at pressing and working hard but I'm talking about being a disciplined defensive minded player. Things like tracking runners, covering space, spatial awareness. If you have Can there alongside Hendo, with Can being the holding mid/DM, it sets a nice platform for the attackers. Coutinho and Firmino operating centrally and feeding the strikers. Width will come from full backs - but it means more emphasis on having a DM to cover the space when the FB's attacks. To play Sturridge and Benteke, you need to drop a CM out of Milner, Hendo or Can. You could drop one of Firmino or Coutinho but they are our best creative players. Ideally, we should have signed a striker who was versatile enough to play out wide or centrally, to give us more flexibility.
No point loaning origi out, he was out on loan last year to get game time so now should be integrated into the squad, especially with benteke his countryman joining, will make it easier for them both.
Makes a change that were struggling to fit our best attacking players into the same team due to having too many of them, nice problem to have.
we've plenty of games between now and January for all the guys who might go on loan. Europa and league cup will allow us to really select the core and say who has to go on loan from jan to may.
Where is Dick Orgy in the pecking order? Presumably Studge is still top. Benteke, Ings and then Orgy. So 4th, although mat be used out wide (if we play wide). As a supporting attacker surely he is below Cout, Firm, Ibe, La la, etc. I have doubts we'll see him much this year. Maybe next year. What happened to Texiera, is he still on the books? Out to loan again or staying? He'd probably be competing with Orgy for spots too.
Sturridge and Benteke will not play together, it will be one or the other. Benteke has until Sturridge is fit to stake his claim, if he is doing the business then Sturridge will have to fight for his place back. Personally i think if Sturridge does not improve his injury record, days of him being an automatic chose when fit are gone.
Can't see us trying to fit them all in at once. The lesson learned from last season is that we need strong back-up to compensate for injuries in crucial areas. We were well ****ed by Sturridge's injuries last time- hopefully that won't happen again.
Bollocks, Hendo is only good defensively, as he is crap with the ball, he excels at getting the ball, but then his tiny pea brain burns up when he has to think about what to do with it.
