<laugh> I love the way you are your own worst enemy. It's like you pitch them up and I bat them out the park.

The press on weekend asked him about transfers. LVG came out with the "mystery signing" first of all. Something you hooked onto like the press. He had them all running around.

Then he says it's nobody that's been linked already. The press go off again thinking up new names we hadnt been linked with. Who were the names you were posting when you heard that?

Then after the next match when the press turn up for the next bit of bait, he slaps them in the face by saying the mystery signing wasnt a striker after all. So yeh over the last week he's led them (and you) a merry dance <cheers>
Do you think the press 'run around' after Mourinho, Rodgers, Wenger, Pardew .... or is it reserved only for LVG?

Last summer we were linked to over 84? signings. And before you say it, we did sign a good portion of them <laugh>

Rooney, Depay, Hernandez, Wilson

Sturridge, Benteke, Ings, Origi

Which is better... Rooney and Hernandez alone are preferable to Sturridge and Benteke.
I'd be happy with Rooney, Depay, Hernandez and Wilson as our four strikers. We won the league with Rooney and Hernandez as our two main strikers. Depay seems to have goals in him and Wilson will benefit from another season in the first team squad after scoring shed loads for the reserves and youth teams. Given that we now play with one out and out striker, do we really need more than 3 or 4 who can play in that position? I know Liverpool have something like 7 strikers but most of them are crap and you sometimes play two up top don't you?

Expect we'll ship out Lambert this week and Borini + Balotelli by September.

There should be enough goals from your team to get away with only having two proper strikers. No idea how Depay does there.

Seems you need defenders much more.

Probably got bumped down by another De Gea thread

Threads get bumped down by new threads mate not posts. Feel free to find the frenzy and clamour of United fans on our new surprise signing. Probably easier to look at your own post history for that

On a more serious note I'm guessing the club are waiting for the anniversary of the MH17 tragedy to pass before making the official announcement

Liverpool Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Belgium international striker Christian Benteke from Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Reds today after successfully completing a medical in London.

Benteke has built a reputation as one of the Barclays Premier League's most clinical forwards since joining Villa from Genk in 2012, having scored 49 goals in 101 appearances for the Midlands side.

During that time he has also become a regular fixture for the Belgium national team and has netted seven goals in 24 outings for his country.
After completing his move to Anfield, Benteke told Liverpoolfc.com: "

Obviously a talkative chap then <whistle>

Is that "long term" as in Coates "long term"?
