3 Million pounds is an awful lot of money even at Championship level. However if he scores a Hat Trick at Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day then it will be worth every penny !
£2.17m as of the current exchange rate of 1.38.. But that doesn't mean he will score a hat trick against Sheff Weds, or anyone else next season!
However, a step very much in the right direction. Cotts says they have been looking at him since a year ago, so its no knee jerk reaction to criticism. Now if we can bring in another defender and midfield player then we will at least be able to compete this season
Just watched the youtube clip, and yes whilst some of the defending was questionable, two things make me think he clould be a real hit this season, 1. His pace and 2. His ability to get the ball out of his feet quickly. These 2 attributes will see him well set with us next year, could well turn out to be a 15-20 striker. I also like he is a penalty taker, I always want strikers taking penalties, as any goals breeds confidence. Tom Lees and Alan Judge now please, with a couple of loan signings as well and we are well set
Pretty sure he had two feet in the picture I saw. I'm not sure why we pay scouts though as everybody seems to be able to make a judgement on youtube videos alone
Well at the moment that's all we have to go on? So any prediction of when he will score his first goal with his left foot?
Yes it is but it isn't for the scouts so they are either happy that he does have two feet or that his one foot is so good who cares about the other!!! and no but I make a prediction that we will get a he's rubbish thread when he doesn't score in his first game
So we now have two tall "in the box" players.. all we need now is a 5 foot 3 inch forward who can run between the legs of the opposition and we are away...............
I applaud any signing that meets our criteria but I couldn't help but notice that the defences were terrible, somewhat like City a few seasons ago. Time alone will tell the full story and I wish him nothing but the best. The French second tier and the associated academies are loaded with talent that is readily available and is considered one of the best examples of how the junior system should work. Hmmm!
No - and actually an English player of that ilk from the Championship would have cost upwards of £5m, so looks like good business Just saying that all teams watch videos/scout the opposition - I would be looking to let him go on his left
He is two footed Angers’ Kodjia reported target for Palace and West Brom Posted on January 24, 2015 by Brendan Macfarlane please log in to view this image RELATED POST Nampalys Mendy Set for Ranieri Reunion at Leicester City France U19 Men Fall to Spain as Women Stand Strong OL Pride: Youthful Lyon Ready to Roar Again What Jordan Amavi will bring to the Aston Villa revolution Marseille : Grand Designs or DIY SOS? Earlier in the January transfer window, Angers SCO’s Jonathan Kodjia had been linked with a move to Lorient in Ligue 1, but now Foot Mercato are reporting that the 25-year-old is a target for Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League and Championship side Cardiff City. Having scored 12 goals in France’s second-tier so far this season, the centre-forward has caused quite a stir, with scouts making their way to the Stade Jean-Bouin to get a glimpse of the striker. Angers recently lost Kodjia’s teammate, Sofiane Boufal, to Ligue 1 side Lille earlier in the transfer window, and it now appears that the attacking-midfielder may not be their sole departing player in January. Kodjia is a skilful, strong and pacey lone front-man, his style and physique would adjust well to the English game. He is definitely equipped to follow in the footsteps of West Ham United centre-forward Diafra Sakho, by making the jump from Ligue 2 success to playing in the Premier League. Blessed with both pace and height, the two-footed striker is as capable of taking on players when cutting in off the wing, as he is as playing as a target man. The former Stade de Reims and SM Caen attacker is under contract with his current club until 2016, so now could be perfect time for Stéphane Moulin’s side to cash in on their number 22 and take full advantage of Premier League interest.
He's clearly right-footed but who cares - Wilbs recons he's a great addition to the squad. Will be interesting to know how he got on in the friendly.
His performance in Portugal today might make his price a bit more palatable and maybe our spending will bring in better players. With his signing I saw the desire to step outside the normal bounds of mediocrity and try and move us on to a better future. In my books if that trend is to continue then perhaps we may change our style of play in accommodating new style players which could bring a whole new zest to Ashton Gate. Time alone will tell.
