That, combined with the goals to games ratio i was talking about isnt bad. Much better than average...

I think we need to look at it more than just shots or goals to games ratio. From that list on the shots conversion rate, we have Jon Walters and Papiss Cisse topping the list - neither of which would improve our side.

Since we are on this topic though, Giroud's first season at Arsenal, he had one of the lowest conversion rates of any striker in the Premier League. Second season, it was slightly better, but was still below par. Last season it was good, and I have stated this several times now that he had a good season in the campaign gone by, but in my opinion, a striker that is more agile and has better movement would suit us better as a first-choice striker than a target man who slows down the tempo of our game too often. As a plan B, I wouldn't object to it but he shouldn't be a starter for us.

I don't understand comments like this, or the one [from another poster] slagging off Giroud after one pre-season friendly. Dzeko scored only 6 goals in 31 games, being fit for the majority of the season last year.

After getting fit, Giroud went on a run that gave him one of the best goals to games ratios in the Prem, scoring 19 goals in 36 games after an end of season slump in form.

Our attack and creativity improved when Giroud came back into the team, and we had a focal point to our attacks, and an anchor for the attacking midfielders/wide players to run off. He was on of our best players since Jan last season. But people seem to just love slagging off Giroud, but whenever he's out of the team for a significant period of time we miss him.

Dzeko used to be good, but now he's just average.
Nicely put -I reckon we'd miss Giroud more than people will realise and I think he is going to be very strong next season.

We need to buy Lacazette as he is fast and scores goals. He would give us a choice of Plans.
Plan A play Giroud as sole striker
Plan B play Giroud and Lacazette out wide and cut in from wing
Plan C play Lacazette as sole striker against teams that play high line as he has speed to get behind
Plan D play Giroud and Lacazette just off him against teams playing back 4
Plan E play Lacazette and Theo and scare the **** out of every back four

Plan F don't ****ing buy anyone and sit back and wait for Giroud and Theo get injured and we are left with Welbeck !

Or is Gibbs position under threat. I'm leaning towards the Gibbs part. I might be totally wrong. But in my eyes Gibbs has not progressed. And this guy is very young so...

I understand what you mean, Nacho's form was very good last season and Gibbs has suffered from lots of injuries. But I think there's an expectation for Gibbs to kick on this season while the deciding factor could be that Gibbs is HG and younger. As the amount of HG players will affect a clubs transfer targets.
