I do agree, but there is no doubt the guy had talent before coming to our club.

I'm not saying he's going to be the Prem's top scorer or anything, but I would like to see him be given another chance. If anyone can get him firing I do think it's Alex Neil and if he recaptures his form from Sporting we have a pretty good striker on our books.

Agree. Would love to see what AN can do with him. I just hope Ricky himself is up for it (and us) too.

AN seems keen on Thompson as well. He is getting plenty of minutes in matches so far.

I guess if Olson is not fit for the start of the season, AN is looking at Thompson to cover rather than switch Whittaker. Of course that could all change if we sign Brady or Van Dijk.

I thought Thompson was a defensive midfielder, surely Toffolo would be the stand in?

Thompson is a DM, and was only played at LB to get some minutes in. Toffolo, who did very well in the second unit - including scoring a goal, would be the one to come in at LB if needed. AN seems to rate both of them though. He also seems prepared to give RvW a clean slate and it'd be great if that works out. It's interesting that AN said that we have 'bids' in for players and are just waiting for others to come back to us. Not just Brady then.

I would be very surprised if Brady is the only player we're trying to bring in.

The bid for Larrivey and Mbokani show an interest in a new striker, unless Neil now wants RvW to fill that role.

I actually hope that AM is brave enough to employ EB as a right back. He has never been less than good when used in this position, and he has the advantage of a bit of extra pace. I have hopes that he will evolve into our premier RB.

Yeah would balance out with Olsson nicely I think.

Sounds like we have made a further offer for Brady which hasn't been dismissed out if hand. I really think this is a case of it probably will happen it just needs to play its self out.

Until we hear otherwise in terms of where Hull are at with this situation we are still interested,” he said. “We feel we have made a really good and fair offer and it is up to them to decide what they are doing."

Me too, though judging from the highlights against Cambridge, he was a major cause of their goal I think as he gives the ball away and didn't bust a gut to get back.

Yes, a Premiership club that likes to attack.

That was Whittaker, Rob, but he was back. Their goal was well executed, I thought. EB played in the second 60 minutes so had nothing to do with the goal.

And attack with telling cut-backs for a well timed run. RvW then responded with a similar telling cut-back for a well timed run to assist Toffolo's goal. He was the stand-out striker on the night.

I stand corrected! Thanks Rick. I blame the quality of the YouTube highlights...

I thought RvW's cross was the most interesting part of the highlights I watched. A neat bit of movement to lose his marker, a decent turn and then a very good ball across the box. More excited about that than his tap finish

Has AN worked his magic again? If he can do for RvW the same as he has done for Seb then he has saved us an awful lot of money and we end up with a first class striker to boot. Still early days in the relationship though.

Apparently Bournemouth have tabled a £3.5m bud for Glenn Murray, partly because they fear Wilson is off elsewhere.

Wilson won't go for a small fee, so I'd have thought they'd have set their sights higher than Murray.
