Barca loaning Turan out til jan. obviously he is our second midfielder coming in. Mystery over
He tried that last year. Didn't work out to well then either.Come home Rickie.
For what it's worth, I am actually more excited at the thought of signing Van Djik, than I ever was at Toby returning.
Toby was not the Messiah. He was a good CB, who looked good alongside Jose.
I fully expect VVD (should we sign him) to improve as a defender, under Jose's tutelage, whilst giving us an extra edge when pushing forward and from free kicks.
Do we need to get the dictionary out for a bit of lesson time?
To be fair Toby is a spurs player now, how that happened only Toby and Les know, i don't believe that in a 2 horse race between us and Spurs he would have chose Spurs, so some where along the line we ****ed this deal up.
No point in worrying about it though its done lets get our 2nd choice cb in and hope that he's upto Toby's level. If it turns out we buy a pup and concede 300 goals then we can get the sack the board banners made for the last game of the season.![]()
Why would he not choose spurs over us? They pay higher wages for a start

What's their odds for relegation?
If the truth were that Saints messed up in some way, there is a pretty much a 0% chance that Les Reed is going to admit that in a public press conference.
And again, what is the truth anyway? No one messes up on purpose. Reed might very well believe that he did the best he could and his actions were correct, while a more objective observer could see the mistakes he made.
And I've been practicing law for close to 20 years now, thanks.
Apparently we do.

Surely you are good at it now if you've been practising it for 20 years. I admire your perseverance as I'd have given up after a couple of weeks if I hadn't got the hang of it by then![]()
Yes, Charlie Brown?
I'm sooooo glad I checked in to see the transfer news...!!
Although it's only my opinion, I'm pretty sure the "mine is bigger than yours" argument is a waste of oxygen/keyboard pressing.
Regardless of statements that Toby made, I never felt like his move was anything more than careful stage management and saying the right thing to an audience desperate for acceptance from someone who has come from a "bigger club".
He was fantastic pre-injury lay off, and although he showed flashes of this on his return, to me he never seemed the same even though this just reduced him to very good.
Another club came calling and he saw his name in stars quicker with them than with us and his year long loan turned out exactly as he wanted.
I know people will always want to think the best of him, but maybe, just maybe he did a number on us.
He was with and now he is not, no point harping on or massaging egos.
Personally, I couldn't care less if Les ballsed up 10% of the time as long as the only people that deal with it are Katherina, Ralph and Ronald-it's their issue after all.
The bit about researching a player before they outlay an extortionate fee sounds like a bloody good idea to me, we all know bosses check Facebook and Twitter when we all apply for jobs. I'd rather £8.5 million carefully spent than £15 million wasted.
It's been barely 25 hours since a bloody talented footballer signed up with us, sit back and enjoy the ride children.
