No where on earth did you hear that!!!! Everyone needs to post this back to me by days end in creative ways
This from James Pearce Liverpool are on the brink of completing a £32.5million deal for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke. The Reds have decided to trigger the release clause in the Belgium international's contract and he's set to become the second most expensive signing in the club's history. Liverpool have been chasing Benteke all summer but had previously been unwilling to pay the asking price. With Villa desperate to keep hold of Benteke and unwilling to negotiate on the price, a stand-off had developed in recent weeks but the impasse has now been broken by the Reds. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ws/liverpool-fc-news-transfer-rumours-9665522

So basically utd pretend to want Benteke and suggest they will pay his release clause. Liverpool get worried and actually pay his release clause. Utd and everyone else laugh at Liverpool. Oh well. Looks like BR is off then.
When will we ever learn from our mistakes? Spunk more money on players in the domestic market because they look good in a couple of games and on MOTD.

This is what has happened basically, yea. Aston villa or benteke's agent (most likely) leak rubbish about United being interested. What happens next? We bid £32m ffs
So our big signing last year was Lallana. This year it's Benteke. And fans wonder why we're mid table...
Its the kind of trick you would play on the class Idiot to make them get high off of a tictac. Really worry about the brains that run our team. Hopefully this will all end up like the matchday threads when we slate a player and he turns round and scores the winner.
for £32.5 million we could have at least bothered to table a bid for the likes of Lacazette, Benzema or even Higuain. But Benteke? He's looked ok in a **** as hell team. Injury record is average, and he's not the most mobile tbh. for £20m? not bad, for £32m? ffs.
If we're lucky, Benteke may be useful for us, at best. He will never be a superstar, and for £32m that's what I'd hope we could get tbh.
Well one thing is for sure - the owners have whole heartedly backed the manager this summer. No excuses now.
