I would hate that tbh, even if it would mean we could get in it. the CL is a prestigious competition, originally for the "champions", then it was enlarged to get better teams in from western European leagues. Imagine a CL where the likes of Stoke, West Ham, etc can get in! sure, they may be better than some eastern European clubs that get into the CL, but thats not what it's about.

The solution is to improve the EL, and make that more prestigious. Starting with stopping teams dropping from CL to EL in the group stages.

100% agree. The CL would be an absolute joke if they allowed more clubs into it. I still think it should be a competition for champions (or perhaps the top 2 teams). But allowing more into it is ridiculous - but money talks I suppose.

Medal is a good player - complete liability though. The man's a nutter.

Yea he is known as 'The Pitbull' <laugh>

Yeah,I like Medal. He's like a more psychotic Mascha :emoticon-0165-muscl

Don't they call him 'The Pitbull'? <laugh>

wass thinking similar. He'd be closest we've come to replacing mascherano for that type of player, but he's obviously not as good.

Has that same South American tenacity though.

You all rate him that much not one of you ****ers can spell his batard name <laugh>

Medel chaps ffs <doh>

I'd agree but super league is where it's headed I reckon.

I think europa should be on at 6pm before cl at 8pm and sell it as a TV bundle myself.

I think it should be rotated with the CL slots tbh. European footie on tues/weds/thurs (all at 8ish) but rotated around EL/CL, instead of having Thursday as the afterthought

No-one gives a **** about it though, hence the reason it's on ITV 4 on a Thursday.

If you're thinking a few seasons down the line also think about the Arsenal collapse

When Wenger goes they will lose someone who has specifically trained to limp into the top 4 season after season

The next guy will drop like Man Utd after Fergie. Except Arsenal then won't then spend the fraction of a billion Man Utd have spent to only get back in thanks to other teams having poor seasons.

Whilst I'm not saying I want LFC to exist purely to qualify for top 4, you cannot argue that Wenger has done a great job in keeping Arsenal in top 4 for so long on that budget and constraints. We saw first hand how we capitulated when ONE player was sold. Wenger does this every season.

Stadium now paid off and he's bought big with Ozil and Sanchez, and Cech could prove to be a very good signing.

Bring in a quality CM and a ST, they could be back in business.

I'd take Medel. Complete fighter - which is what we need. Good level experience too. Have said for a while I'd love Raul Garcia here, same reasons.

United are doing something we just can't match.. we shouldn't try to match it. They have more money and still have the draw of being an established CL club. It's a vicious circle for us. We need serious cash injection or a series of very successful transfers/youth players to regain that. At least City, Spurs, Arsenal haven't done much. Could say Arsenal have made strides with Cech but they have a pretty good defence anyway. He has to help them in the big games.

Happy with our business so far. Carra says it's Benteke and one more right now. Reckon we could sign another if the deadwood clears. It'll be a striker and a winger. But even right now

------------------Mig
-Clyne---Skrtel---Sakho---Moreno
-------Hendo--Can--Milner
-----Firmino------------Coutinho
--------------Benteke

is definitely stronger than our best side last season...

------------------Mig
---------Can--Skrtel--Sakho
Ibe-----Hendo---Allen-----Moreno
---Lallana----Sterling---Coutinho

The team is a lot more solid now. Milner will do us wonders for two years or so IMO. Lets see who else we bring in (dream of Pedro/Lacazette) + look forward to Sturridge coming back.

Apparently some [HASHTAG]#bitters[/HASHTAG] think goals scored in it are somehow worth something

The fact that no-one gives a **** about the competition doesn't mean that goals scored in it aren't registered in the record books.

See the Mickey Mouse for further details.

Wenger has done a great job of being consistent

Although deals like Sanchez show they have a big advantage over us in terms of wages

With the 3rd highest wage bill, them not coming top 4 would be quite bad

Our 5th highest wage bill shows we have a harder time (and that was even with Gerrard and Johnson picking up inflated wages)

Let's all agree to just use PL goals then?
