What has Delph done wrong? <yikes>

I take it back - he's decide to stay as of yesterday because he's getting too much abuse - not surprising as he committed his future about a month ago and went back on his word.

Sterling on the other hand...

What's worrying for Man City is the attitude of Sterling, how many players have left a club kicking and screaming, showing his poor maturity?

Berbatov refused to play for Spurs and did alright for Man U, relegated with Fulham and nothing of great note with Monaco.

Lovren wanted to leave because he felt it was a jump up in his career and ended up being shown up for being embarrassing last season.

There are probably many others but not many players have done what Sterling did and have gone on to be the World best or even gone on to be super successful.
He isn't happy at liverpool and he wants to leave (for whatever reason), which I understand and have no issue with. What he has done wrong is the way he has engineered this move. On the bright side at least the saga won't run all summer now. It was getting really tedious.

Thank got that steaming turd has finally gone.

£49 mill is good business.

He joins Delph in the elite of greedy English, back water scum that taint this land.

Hope the **** doesn't get a game <ok>

Harsh on Delph, he turned down the move to City to stay and play football at Villa <laugh>

How many apps, goals and assists we reckon he'll get next season?
He'll play, I don't doubt that. There is no way SIlva, Aguero, Yaya, Nasri and Navas will be able to go the whole season without injury, not to mention that Silva and Yaya will have rest periods during the season.

Early in the season I see them starting with him in the team, to justify the price, however he'll drop to the bench as soon as form drops or if it never starts. If Citeh are playing badly he'll be the first to be dropped.
As for goals, since he's **** at shooting can't see him getting more than this season or last. Assists maybe more cause he's got Aguero to score them, frankly our striking line up of last season didn't lend itself to assists.

One day sterling may go on to fulfil his potential and be a true 50million player. The fact we are getting that cash now, when he's shown glimpses of talent and heaps of average, is hilarious. I just hope we don't go and pay 32m for benteke <doh> then the joke will be on us, again.

I just know we will <steam>

Just the sort of thing we do as a club

Fair play for holding out for nearly 50 million, unbelievable though. Please waste the money on Benteke!

Sky now reporting £44m with £5m add ons
i heard the issue was how the add ons was made up, no idea if true or not but apparently not happy it was on the basis of sterling wining trophies, so i assume that has changed to something else (if appearances we know how that one will end lol.)

Still think we should have made him put in a transfer request, even had City stumped up £60m. Oh, and for God's sake let's hope Shady Ward doesn't get one ****ing penny from us.

All that said - I rated him our third best player in the 2014 season, only behind Luis and Gerrard, and i thought then he had the world at his feet. Thought he was tremndous against Italy in the WC, and everything was looking good. In an iffy season last term, he was really, really dire against average team away like Ludogrets and Basle in the CL, tripping over the ball half the time. and his attitude to be asked to fill in at right wing-back was pukeable.

But... I will miss what we thought he'd develop into. Not in the same class as Owen, Mcmanaman, Fowler or Gerrard at that age, but comfortably the best youngster to emerge from our ranks since then. I wish I could wish him well, but it's hard not to reconcile his wish to go (fair enough) with the lack of a transfer request and that bullshit interview with the Beeb. He's one hamstring injury away from being mediocre though, and unlike Owen he hasn't a natural predator's skill to redesign his game.

Not that I hope he gets injured, like...:emoticon-0114-dull:
