Fabian Delph has decided it's better to help City with their HG quota than focus on his own career. Because that worked out so well for Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair, didn't it?
He just fancies having a gap year.
Odd time to do it though, considering the international schedule.

Looks like schiederlin will go to the gooners then (if they bid the asking price)...will make them title contenders imo

We should put in a bid for Schneiderlin, in my opinion.
It would force other clubs' hands, at least.

UNITED STILL IN FOR SCHNEIDERLIN

Manchester United may be on the verge of adding to their midfield ranks with a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger but according to Sky sources, the club are still interested in bringing Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to Old Trafford.

That's Sky Sports, Guardian and MEN all reporting we still want Schneiderlin.

Very good cover for Carrick and at £5.75m far too good to ignore.

Agreed. A smart signing although his wages will be astronomical. Would have a player like him at Spurs in a heartbeat. One of our biggest shortcomings at the moment is that the deluge of talented youngsters don't really have any wizened been-there-done-that veterans to learn from. Unless you count Adebayor ;)

The impact Egdar Davids had on Carrick's development is a good case-in-hand example.

Yep, you need to come up with another VdV type signing to kickstart the team.

He's got more than a few grey hairs, to be fair.

But I don't think he's anywhere near past it. Only 30. Good for another 4 years at the top level.

If you can keep him fit, he's a bit of a crock.

Anyway what exactly are United doing? They've got Carrick, Herrera, Schweinstieger, Blind, Fellaini, Mata and Di Maria who are all at their best playing through the middle of midfield, they're going to have some expensive bench warmers next season.

Is Cambiasso signed up for Leicester for another year or is he available? I'd love to have him on our books to fulfil that need for an experienced head. He's still a very good player too.

You could've said the same about us until 2 weeks ago <whistle>

Quite a few of those are adaptable. Mata did well playing like an old inside right last season. Fellaini had some effective games supporting the striker. Blind can play at left back, Herrera can play in a midfield two or further forward. And realistically, van Gaal may be looking to ship some players out he gets offers. Di Maria hasn't performed.

But you need a big squad of first team quality players. Carrick's injury record is worrying. Blind was out for a while with an injury last season. Chelsea were fortunate with injuries, but most clubs aren't. They would look vulnerable if Matic and Fabregas were out together for 2-3 months.
