Strange that no one else has come in for him. ...I know the pardew connection but am surprised that us, southampton, everton or liverpool haven't shown an interest
We were certainly linked with him ahead of the January transfer window, and again in the last month. The only possible reason I can guess we didn't show an interest is his wages at PSG were around the £60k mark, which is much higher than pretty much every player on our books.
Greetings one n' all. I'm new to the forum - got a bit tired of the average IQ level on some of the other 606 reincarnations. Please do inform me if I've stolen someone's name; surely someone would've taken Citizen Kane by now?! I think the 3 S's - Soton, Stoke and Swansea are showing real ambition and positive growth and it's been truly refreshing in what was threatening to become a stagnantly predictable league. But the Cabaye to Palace deal must be down to his personal connection with Pardew...no way could they dream of matching his PSG wages.
Welcome. Nah, I don't think we have any Kanes here yet, I was gonna change my name to Kane For England last summer but didn't get around to it and now it's a bit late Need to think of a name with Pritchard in before I miss the boat on that one too
I was toying with 'Pritchard the Lionheart' for a bit but ultimately settled on an ode to Harry. Yours is one of the best names I've seen on any forum, and I'm not just saying that because you've got a nice green banner reading 'Forum Moderator'.
Haha, cheers. Us mods fix the prediction leagues every year, I'll put in a good word for you I liked the name too but I just get tired of being called "Yid" all the time on other boards, I get the feeling some don't necessarily use it in the Spurs sense.
The only thing I can presume that's put off other suitors is the wage, being a PSG player I reckon he's on a hefty wad of money and so it's down to if a club are willing to take the risk of matching that sort of salary as I doubt he'd take a cut, looking at Palace's squad I doubt many would be on crazy wages so maybe they're in a position to make that marquee signing and Cabaye would fit the bill.
It appears that new WHL being the biggest stadium in London is upsetting our Woolwich neighbours. Word is that they immediately responding with an exciting new Library expansion that will take their capacity up to 61,000 + 1 (provisionally codenamed the "Suarez" section) . Problem is their supporters will then spend the following decade crying about the costs of the upgrade being the reason why they are PL title challenger no-hopers.
That surely paves the way for Shaquiri to move there. I'd written Hughes off after his time at City and QPR, and for generally being a plank, but he's turned the tables round and is doing a great job up there. Fair play to him. How long before we truly do see if Messi can do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke?
Steve McClaren has banned his players from swearing. What a *&^%! Something tells me that the crowd at St James' won't follow that trend.
Fabian Delph has decided it's better to help City with their HG quota than focus on his own career. Because that worked out so well for Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair, didn't it?
