No, say it as you mean it Joe.....

To be honest it took the men's game years for them to get to the wages they are on, or at least some of them are on. You can't expect Women's football to be on a par so easily. I doubt it ever will be but think you will see many more full time professionals in the women's game in the future. Don't think the men get paid mega bucks for playing Nationally either. Can't disagree with the Sky sentiment though and you already know my opinion of them stated many times previously.

I'll say well done to the womens team.....but I must admit I didn't watch any of it and it doesn't really turn me on or interest me. So I cannot get excited over coming third or even if they'd won it.

Joe likes fence sitting doesn't he.......with BT Infinity I could get there football for no extra payment....but I can't be bothered and with Mrs Plym not being sport interested it wouldn't be appropiate to be honest......and as for Sky....they are just taking most of the live sport away.......oh for a bit of "Test match Special".....but those days have been taken away from us for ever.

In need of a beverage or two this evening as had a bit of a dodgy day today.

Got up this nearly afternoon, had breakfast/lunch and prepared myself to paint the back fence. Turned out I'd forgotten to buy the fence stuff so popped off to the shops to get some. That was easy enough but when I got home her indoors met me at the door with a "Thank god you've finally got here (I'd only been 45 minutes) we have to pick up No.1 grandson and take him to hospital". Anyway after rushing off to the school it turned out he had an argument with a basketball which had only gone and bent his little pinky back. We were met by a not so concerned teacher and an even less concerned grandson. So much for the medical emergency her indoors led me to believe.

Anyway, arrived at Derriford A & E and settled in for a 3 hour wait. Turned out he had a small fracture which they do nothing with apart from put a bit of stickie tape on. Given it was a Wednesday it was bloody packed in the reception. No wonder they are behind with everything so not blaming them for the waiting time. Still didn't get my fence painted so will have to do it tomorrow now. Bleddy kids, he also cost me £5 in crisps, sweets and drinks.

Glad it wasn't too serious sensible and all will eventually heal well....and quickly at that age.......of course you have another problem now.....does No1 grandson excel at maths.....if he does he will soon workout that if one pinky equals £5's of goodies....and that he has got twenty fingers and toes plus a nose he could be onto a good thing from grandad.....throw in two ears as well and he could look like an old boxer who doesn't know when to retire......just a thought.................hope you got your drink or two sensible in the end......one good thing comes out of this.....your fence when painted will stay painted one day longer than if you had done it yesterday.....a silver lining moment there hang on to it.....<ale>....:emoticon-0167-beer:....:emoticon-0169-dance.

What a tonic you are plym. With all that good news I'm not sure what I needed the drink for in the first place.

As it happens he is not good at maths he is better than that. School says he could sit his GCSE now and he is 12. Obviously takes after me. He is also very cunning when it comes to bending his grannies ear for things he'd like so I won't be giving him any clues as he doesn't need them. Mind you, the girls aren't far behind but they have a couple of years to improve on him yet. Spent most of day painting a fence.

I'm not going there thank you. I value my equipment even if it's old and a bit rusty and worn.

One side or both sides......It's always brings a smile to my face....you preserve your side....but the other side doesn't get done....isn't the whole fence yours so does it not go rotten then on the other side.

Due to trees and things believe it or not the rear of the fence doesn't get wet so it's unlikely to rot. The wood used to build it was also treated and supposedly guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years. However, you will be pleased to note that my backside is also painted. It's a lovely old oak colour and very fetching I'm told. :emoticon-0172-mooni

I've just been having a look around at different forums and came across a couple talking about Big Brother and the Argyle supporter who is currently locked up in there. I must admit that some people make me laugh almost to choaking state.

First thing is you would think that if you watched the programme then you would root for the Argyle fan if you were from these parts. Not a bit of it. One person is saying that this Pie Face as he's known has no life and is a bit of a sad git. Not only that but of course most of the people commenting think the whole programme is a sad waste of space. So, these people spend their time watching something they think is pants and commenting on somebody who apparently doesn't have a life themselves. They are so not sad themselves that they have to give a daily running commentary of Pie Face's life on the inside. Also their best guess on who will be evicted next even though they have no interest........ You have to ask yourself who is the saddest of them all don't you. At least this Pie Face could come out with a big prize which is more than the ones not interested who watch it avidly will get. Not sure I'll ever understand human nature.

This pieface is well known on the terraces and certainly lives up to his name.....you wouldn't want to be behind him in the pasty queue because there wouldn't be any left.

He got himself on "Deal or no Deal" earlier in the year.....and then on this repugnant "Big Brother" garbage.....he has been in this "Big Brother" house for so long he didn't know that Argyle had lost to Wycombe Wanderers in the play-offs.....he supposed of paid a lot of money to find out if Argyle had been promoted.

Not my interest this sort of TV.....but he seems to be making a living out of it believe it or not.

Best of luck to him Plym, somebody has to be on these shows so why not him. I think the shows are crap as well and have never watched Big Brother in my life but I don't moan about it then follow it avidly for weeks thereafter. I would suggest that those who have a pop at this kid are jealous. Saying he hasn't got a life then spending half of their own stalking him is a bit pathetic isn't it. I don't care what he looks like or how sad he is supposed to be. He will make a few quid out of these things so who will have the last laugh.

    Back to Women's Football..

I think the reason it did so well here WWC is because we are very limited watching any football ...we just have MLS which isn't too bad.
So we packed the stadium's and the Women's game took off..
Here in Vancouver the place was rocking mostly with American Fans for the final..
    To them it is Soccer..

"Soccer"....oh how I hate that word. Never mind what the Yanks call anything, we invented football so it's called bleddy football.

There were plenty of comments about the crowd sizes over there BC. I'm not sure how good they would have been here. To many people with their minds stuck in the past to fill stadiums I think and it will be a good few years yet before it catches on sufficiently. Have to admit I didn't watch any that were televised myself. I have watched a couple of games previously but can't quite get into it. They are comparative novices at the game still and to be honest I think it does show. But, it is improving and will only get better with time and giving it a bit of cash to improve itself. Most of the top UK clubs have got women's teams now and the reporting is more than before.
