Yes. The Leverkusen lad won't be British though I assume. Sterling's on £35k, he turned down £100k from us and can't see city feeling they need to increase that by too much. Are we waiting for him to hand in a transfer request btw?
maybe.. he got what he could out of them then shafted them. if he needed them he treated them a lot better thats for sure... same for benetiz. they all acted well on the pitch though the moment they didn't they were out.... scholes even got the drop as he said so himself.
that could drag if so, if we have refused to comment on the sterling situation, i assume he wont be punished for being a prick and fined wages, otherwise its obvious whats happened then isn't it? cant blame players for the way they are nowdays ie silly lifestyles etc but i would probably let the club royaly shaft me just to wear the shirt (hope its obvious in what way i mean that comment lol)
But not British and only two years at Chavski (fails to meet the homegrown criteria; don't think loan years count unless they were in England, which the weren't)
I think they want both though... that was my understanding at outset and the rumours... de bruyne certinly doesn't fit now HG criteria clubs are worried about.
I know, but I have said all along that they will pay the big money to improve the team and buy cheaper HG players to fill the quota (Delph?). Sterling would have helped with both at a reasonable price but £50m may just be too much for them to waste.
So far only Suarez and Sterling but he's got rid of other big personalities like Reina, who I think he's not comfortable around. Look at the type of player he's bringing in - no big personalities [maybe Mario an exception but don't think he was his choice anyway] - kids who he can 'control'. Imagine Rodgers trying to manage a Ronaldo or Keane - would never happen[ed].
City are miles away from meeting the quota - which is why the're looking at Delph , and will eventually cough up £50m for Sterling!
anyone know what happens if they dont meet the quota of homegrown? if its they are not allowed in comp will uefa enforce it or not have the balls.
They need 5 players to replace the ones they have lost so Richards, Sinclair and Boyata (replace with youth players as they were never used anyway), leaving one bit part player (Lampard) and one regular (Milner) to be replaced. Any two of Wilshere, Delph or Grealish would fill that whole leaving them to spend big on team improvement
I don't know what happens but I guess they just have to get 8 [?] home growns in the 25 man squad come what may. It only applies to PL fixtures I think.
That is the threatened punishment, there are a group of Premier League clubs (and agents) fighting the proposed FA increase in HG quotas in court. If they win it could have an impact on the UEFA imposed quota.
Can see City getting Fulham's Patrick Roberts. Surprised Pellegrini is still there - would've expected a clear out if he left. Still would be surprised if Dzeko, Jovetic, Demichelis and Yaya are still there by September.
Really? I'd say Suarez was complete opposite in personality to those two. Could you see him arguing the toss with the manager, I couldn't. He needed help for the biting issue but that was outside the managers remit I'd say.
I would be so happy if this was to happen. I actually think he would be the perfect fit for our team. If we pulled this out the bag and got rid of Sterling then we've had a very good transfer window! Almost the perfect window considering the adjustments we needed. Unfortunately I think Benteke is all but done, once Sterling goes he'll be straight in. I'm not too worried about Benteke as I think he'll do well here, but Lacazette would be far better for what we do.
I agree, he just seemed like the kind of player who just wants to be playing and as long as he is picked will not argue about tactics, team selection or anything else.
