Not at all in the know or claiming to be, but my brother is an estate agent for Saville's in London and he knows the Spurs relocation agent, who has apparently told him everything with Toby to Tottenham is signed and sealed. He was hoping he'd use my brother to find him a house but he isn't at that level of property yet so it went to someone else...!

It's been a strange transfer saga, but what usually counts is the player's wishes so if Toby fancies North London then there ain't a lot saints can do to change that. Throwing money at it works sometimes, but now usually counterproductive.
I'm thinking that Alderweireld came to us as a bit of a surprise, and performed very well, and that the black box could throw us a similar gem.
Van Beek is young and looks a prospect, would be damn sight cheaper than Toby. Van Dijk is another one who could be just as useful a buy. As long as they are better than the last Van saints bought though, as Jelle Van Damme was ****

Whilst Toby is a great player, it isn't the end of the world. We have a squad of brilliant players with talent added and certainly more to come. It's been a weird saga but time to move on with the players that want to be here. As said above, [HASHTAG]#wemarchon[/HASHTAG]

Oh p*** off you seem desperate to blame the club, why is that ?

Because hearing from people connected to the club, or the club itself, that they're very confident that we will get a deal done for X, only to have the narrative shift suddenly to "we never had a chance" necessarily means that you have to question one element of that or the other.

I half agree with your sentiments that the club could have cut out a lot of fuss and done/organised a deal sooner or during last season. But at the same time they also seem to have been of the understanding that we were well within our rights to wait until the buy-back clause expired. It isn't our job to make sure another team meet the clauses they sign with us and it is also beyond our control that the club would then ignore what they'd signed and deal elsewhere.

And you've done it to death, who needs enemies etc.

Toby to Spurs is a real kick in the knackers. I hate Spurs more even than Liverpool and Pochetwattyface more than anyone in football.

I don't hate Spurs . If MP had told the club he was moving on at the end of the season , I would not have a slight grudge against him now . Toby may have made his mind up to go to London . Good luck to him .
