We usually would at Cardiff mate, it's known for turning a mile. Looking at the conditions though it's going to be a flat wicket so no need for two spinners, play an extra seamer instead
Aussies been saying it's quite grassy and that they'll maybe play the 4 seamers as well. I reckon our squad will be the same as the last one vs New Zealand with Anderson Broad, wood and Stokes the 4 seamers with Ali as spinner. I'd play Rashid personally mind.
Rashid is the wicket taker isn't he , on this pitch with it barely spinning though I would play Ali to contain and frustrate the batsman by pinning them down and hope the seamers get stuck into them from the other end.
The problem with Ali is that he's not very consistent. Bowls a 4-ball every over which takes all pressure off scoring runs off the seamers. We were completely spoilt with Swann who could take wickets and hold an end down. I think they like Ali for his batting at number 8.
Not Ashes, but a sad new cricket report. A young lad in Surrey has just died after being hit in the chest by a cricket ball. Just reported on BBC. Dying for the sake of a game. RIP young man.
As far as the media is concerned I think that this is the most subdued Ashes build up that I can ever remember.
