We do not know what is going or gone on. How do we know if Saints didn't say we will give you the extra cash but AM being pissed off about the leaked news refused? We simply have no idea what is going on apart from:

1) AM breaking agreement.
2) It's a mess.

I don't see why people have to guess what else went on.

Also as DTLW said why should we have to pay more when a agreement was in place anyways?

Well Beef, in a thread full of pure speculation, I was just speculating too. Of course we don't know (and will never know) the full gory details. What we do know is that the club want Toby and that he may very well be off elsewhere for a sum that we could afford. Like I said, sometimes you need to roll with the punches to get what you want.

Mustn't forget Toby in the middle of this. We would have a better chance if he dug his heels in, but why should he. He goes where his club tells him and is probably quite happy with Spurs....not exactly a tiny club, are they? He was only with us one year...we can't expect him to lay his life on the line for us. We could bugger him about by taking out court injunctions to stop him playing for Spurs....do we really want that can of worms? FA and EUFA certainly won't want football rules and contracts to come under scrutiny in a general court.

And as I said we would be seen as a club that buckles and gives in even when we are in the right. Other clubs would have a field day. I think some people are being blinded by the "but we will miss out on Toby" stuff.

I think it is worth remembering that the Liebherr family have a strong sense regarding conducting their business in a proper manner. I won't bother relating a conversation I had with a friend of mine who met them as I have done that before, but suffice it to say, for them, a deal is a deal.
I think that's probably the most important point of all. Channon.

I know this has been dicussed to death but are we all 100% certain that AM are at fault here, is threre a chance this could be our **** up and we've got the terms of the loan contract wrong? Beefy and co seem certain its all AM that are in the wrong but is that 100%the case.

The BBC ran a story yesterday as well saying they looked over the details and that AM were breaching their contract.

If we leaked that AM had messed up to the press and they hadn't. Do you really think AM would be silent? Also if it wasn't true we would get ripped apart by the press. We wouldn't leak anything this serious if we weren't 100% sure.

Very true, hadn't realised it was officially leaked by the club and not just hear say circulating, Be interesting to see how this unfolds as the week goes on.

Spurs are the pits of a football club, why would they sit back and wait to see if Saints have a legitimate case? No, they see, they want, they wave money. They are the absolute low life of a football club.

Spurs aren't really in the wrong here...
