Since they were stupid enough to make that offer, Burnley would have a good argument for the compensation to be that amount. However, I don't think they would get that much still since its not about how much the ex-club wants, its about how much they should be compensated. As Nozzle said earlier, if compensation for such situations take offers such as this into consideration, why wouldn't the rival clubs all offer £250m before pulling out?
They will never get that amount, the bid is taken into consideration not accepted as a value. Any bid like this will raise the compensation cost but will never equal it
