It's poses a major problem for us if, say, United comes for Morgan at the beginning of august, just before our Europa league qualifying match. We would have prepared our team with Morgan in it, an in case of selling would be forced to face our european opposition in a weakened state. It only make sense that we, at that moment, ask for a bigger compensation.
 
Mark Bosnich has told Talksport he believes the Schneiderlin deal to Man Utd is pretty much done. Not quite sure how he'd know mind you.

I know I shouldn't say this, but Bastian would only ever be a short term solution for you. He'll be 31 before the season starts, whereas with Schneiderlin you'd have a top CM for the next 7 or 8 years. As Tom says, £28 million is peanuts for Morgan.
 
Sky have just reported big bets taken on Morgan to Manure in last few hours. Odds have now gone to 1/10 which is usually an indicator that the deal is close.

Yeah, but I have a feeling he is Van Gaals preferred target.

That is the problem of having an old manager on a short term contract, he will buy/promote some young players for the future but that is not his primary target. He has two years left and will want an immediate impact to try and win something. He brought Bastian into the Bayern first team and knows him well and what he can do.

Morgan is hardly an untried gamble. He's had the most tackles and interceptions over the last three years. He is what you and Arsenal need.

I know, that's why he is on our wanted list. I just think LvG would take Bastian as first choice because he has worked with him before.
